The Miners won their fourth straight contest with a 49-20 win Saturday at www.minerathletics.com McKendree to improve to 8-2 on the season, while Truman is coming off a 31-7 loss to Indianapolis (Go to Video & Live Stat links) and is 6-4 on the year. Both teams are 5-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. 2018 Schedule/Results (8-2 overall, 5-1 GLVC) • The Miners are ranked ninth this week in the NCAA Division II Super Region 3 rankings (listed on page 2) and received votes in the AFCA national poll for the third straight week. Prior to the Oct. 22 Date Opponent Time/Score rankings, S&T had not been been listed in the AFCA poll since the 2013 pre-season rankings. The Aug. 30 EASTERN NEW MEXICO W, 31-14 Miners’ appearance in the Super Region rankings is the team’s first since the 2012 campaign. The previous Miner teams to win at least nine in a campaign were the squads in Oct. 6 #22 INDIANAPOLIS* L, 17-24 1914 (9-0), 1980 (10-0) and 2012 (10-1). Roderick Chapman has a *Great Lakes Valley Conference game punt and kickoff runback for a touchdown and is the first Miner with a return of a kickoff, punt and interception for a touchdown in his career. GLVC Football Standings S&T is one of just 11 teams in NCAA Division II with a kickoff, punt and interception return for a (Through Nov. 3, 2018) • touchdown this season; Truman State is one of the other 10 and only other GLVC team on the list. GLVC Overall Indianapolis 7-0 8-1 • Quarterback Tyler Swart and wide receiver Braxton Graham reached milestone plateaus in last Missouri S&T 5-1 8-2 week’s game. Swart became the fourth quarterback in GLVC history to reach 8,000 passing yards Truman State 5-1 6-4 McKendree 3-3 5-5 for his career and second with 70 touchdown throws. Graham hit the 3,000-yard mark for receptions Lincoln 2-4 3-7 and 5,000 for all-purpose yards; William Jewell’s Anthony Mullins is the only other with 5,000 yards. Saturday, Nov. 10 S&T linebacker Landon Compton is the leading active tackler in the GLVC, as he has recorded 341 *Truman State at Missouri S&T, 1 p.m. • Ferris State at William Jewell, 12 p.m. stops in his three-plus seasons in a Miner uniform. Compton ranks fourth on the GLVC’s all-time *McKendree at Lincoln, 12 p.m. tackle list and fifth in school history, while heading S&T’s all-time list for tackles for a loss with 50.5.
