The Miners’ last -- and only -- post-season appearance came when they won the www.minerathletics.com Corn Bowl over Illinois State in Normal, Ill., by the score of 7-6. The Miners bring a 9-2 record into (Go to Video & Live Stat links) the game, while MSU Moorhead -- in its first post-season game since 1994 -- has a record of 8-3. 2018 Schedule/Results (9-2 overall, 6-1 GLVC) • With a win Saturday, Missouri S&T will reach the 10-win mark in a season for just the third time in program history. The previous Miner teams to win at least 10 in a campaign were the squads in Date Opponent Time/Score 1980 (10-0) and 2012 (10-1); the 1914 team (9-0) was the only other one to win at least nine. Swart became the fourth quarterback in GLVC history to reach 8,000 passing yards GLVC Football Standings for his career and second with 70 touchdown throws; he is three scoring passes away from TJ (Through Nov. 24, 2018) Edwards’ GLVC record of 78 scoring passes. Graham passed the 3,000-yard mark for receptions and 5,000 for all-purpose yards; William Jewell’s Anthony Mullins is the only other with 5,000 yards. GLVC Overall Indianapolis 7-0 10-2 Missouri S&T 6-1 9-2 • Placekicker Ben Styron has etched his name into the Miner record book this year, becoming the all- Truman State 5-2 6-5 time scoring leader among placekickers in S&T history with 225 points and also breaking the S&T McKendree 4-3 6-5 career record for field goals made (38) and extra points (121). Quincy 3-4 4-7 Lincoln 2-5 3-8 William Jewell 1-6 1-9 • S&T linebacker Landon Compton is the leading active tackler in the GLVC, as he has recorded 349 Southwest Baptist 0-7 0-10 stops in his three-plus seasons in a Miner uniform. Compton ranks fourth on the GLVC’s all-time tackle list and in school history, while heading S&T’s all-time list for tackles for a loss with 50.5. Upcoming GLVC schedule: Saturday, Dec. 1 • Thanks to four returns for scores this season, S&T has extended a streak to 14 straight years with Missouri S&T vs. MSU Moorhead, 12 pm. at least one return (kickoff, punt, interception or fumble) for a score. Roderick Chapman has a (Mineral Water Bowl, Excelsior Springs, Mo.) punt and kickoff runback for a touchdown and is the first Miner with a return of a kickoff, punt and interception for a touchdown in his career. • The Miners earned 13 GLVC “Player of the Week” awards during the 2018 season, with quarterback Tyler Swart earning the award four times and cornerback Roderick Chapman earning three occasions. S&T has had a weekly award winner in nine of the 10 weeks of the 2018 season. • Saturday’s game will mark the first sanctioned game for the Miners in December in program history.
