Suggestions of Music Work for Second Class Music Generation Tutor: Lorna Maher This is all optional music work. Do some, do it all, your choice. Hopefully you will enjoy. During the year we sang some of the song from the Sound of Music, a musical and film. Second class can sing it on their own or use the link on youtube and sing along with it. https://youtu.be/UmmOJx_Hxto This film was made in 1965. And a link for the song Do Re Mi, this time sung by a choir https://youtu.be/D37Jp9Da-bw The Lonely Goatherd Do-Re-Mi High on a hill was a lonely goatherd Lay ee odl lay ee odl lay hee hoo Let's start at the very beginning Loud was the voice of the lonely goatherd A very good place to start Lay ee odl lay ee odl-oo When you read you begin with A-B-C When you sing you begin with do-re-mi Folks in a town that was quite remote heard Lay ee odl lay ee odl lay hee hoo Do-re-mi, do-re-mi Lusty and clear from the goatherd's throat heard The first three notes just happen to be Lay ee odl lay ee odl-oo Do-re-mi, do-re-mi O ho lay dee odl lee o, o ho lay dee odl ay Do-re-mi-fa-so-la-ti O ho lay dee odl lee o, lay dee odl lee o lay Let's see if I can make it easy A prince on the bridge of a castle moat heard Doe, a deer, a female deer Lay ee odl lay ee odl lay hee hoo Ray, a drop of golden sun Men on a road with a load to tote heard Me, a name I call myself Lay ee odl lay ee odl-oo Far, a long, long way to run Sew, a needle pulling thread Men in the midst of a table d'hote heard La, a note to follow Sew Lay ee odl lay ee odl lay hee hoo Tea, a drink with jam and bread Men drinking beer with the foam afloat heard That will bring us back to Do (oh-oh-oh) Lay ee odl lay ee odl-oo One little girl in a pale pink coat heard Lay ee odl lay ee odl lay hee hoo She yodeled back to the lonely goatherd Lay ee odl lay ee odl-oo We also covered a song by Imagine Dragons called Believer and some more songs by George Ezra – Shotgun and Budapest that can be sung alone or with music from spotify or youtube. For these I usually accompany the children on keyboard. If I use youtube for these songs I look up the version with lyrics on screen. .
