[email protected] or contact the Editor on 01905 830744. 2 View from the Vicarage September begins with the church fete on Saturday 3rd and includes the Historic Churches Bike Ride on Saturday 10th. On this latter date, all round the country people visit by bicycle or various other means of transport as many churches as they can, being sponsored for the number visited. Money raised is shared between their own church and the fund for their county, providing resources to help any local historic church with costs of repairs. I was surprised when first I came here, to hear how frequently the subject of the English Civil War came up in conversation.
