The American Friends of the Hermitage had a special Board of Director’s trip to St. Petersburg, , to celebrate the tricen- tennial of the city and to attend the first imperi- al banquet given at the Hermitage since the time of the . The evening honored HRH Prince Charles, beginning with a champagne and caviar reception in the courtyard, a performance by the Marunsky in the “” theater, dinner in the Winter and desert in the “Hanging Gardens,” a restoration project at the museum.
