From the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Chief Wildlife Warden letter No.WL5/17854/2004 dated 26.11.2009 -------------- ORDER: The Government accept the proposal of the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Chief Wildlife Warden for declaring an area of 88,726.00 Ha. of Reserved Forest as Sathyamangalam Wild life Sanctuary in Sathyamangalam and Gobichettypalayam Taluk under section 26 A (1) (b) of the Wild life (Protection) Act, 1972 (Central Act 53 of 1972). The Notification appended to this order will be published both in English and Tamil in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette and in Tamil in the District Gazette of the Erode District. 2. The Tamil Development, Religious Endowment and Information Department is requested to send immediately a Tamil Translation of the Notification to the Works Manager, Government Central Press, Chennai for publication in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette and in the District Gazette of Erode District. 3. The Works Manager, Government Central Press, Chennai is requested to send 10 copies each of the Notification to the Government, the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests/ Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Chief Wildlife Warden /Conservator of Forests (Wildlife), Chennai, Collector of Erode District and the Revenue Divisional Officer, Sathyamangalam as soon as the notification is published. Erode District Disaster Management Plan - 2020 1 Erode District Disaster Management Plan - 2020 CHAPTER - 1 INTRODUCTION 1.1. Aims and Objectives of the District Disaster Management Plan: ➢ To engage in activities which may help in minimizing the damages caused by disasters in both urban and rural areas. ➢ To make endeavors towards creating awareness among the people about disasters and its consequences and to prepare them in advance to face such situations and to ensure their participation in the disaster mitigation plans. ➢ Existing institutional arrangements, interdepartmental linkages, role of NGOs, voluntary agencies and local communities so as to understand their capabilities to mitigate specific disasters which will also facilitate effective coordination in their activities in times of need. ➢ To act as an agency for the execution of disaster management schemes of the Government and the NGOs. ➢ To evolve information reporting and monitoring tools for preparedness, immediate response and damage assessment, keeping in view the socioeconomic conditions of urban and rural areas. 1.2. Authority for District Disaster Management Plan: In accordance with the ‘Section 30’ of the ‘Disaster Management Act, 2005’ Sub-Section (1) The District Authority shall act as the district planning; coordinating and implementing body for disaster management and take all measures for the purposes of disaster management in the district in accordance with the guidelines laid down by the National Authority and the State Authority. 1.3. Evolution of DDMP: Historically, emergency management and preparedness has been a reactive science. The District Magistrate who is the chief co-ordinator will be the focal point for coordinating all activities relating to prevention, mitigation and preparedness apart from his existing responsibilities pertaining to response and relief.

Brief Summary of Kadayampatti Cetp Project

BRIEF SUMMARY OF KADAYAMPATTI CETP PROJECT Proposed Installation of 8MLD Kadayampatti Common Effluent Treatment Plant with ZLD along with 4MW Captive Power Plant, Kadayampatti, Bhavani Taluk, Erode District Tamilnadu. The proposed project falls under category ‘B1’ at 7(h) of the Schedule of 2006 EIA notification. Its coordinates are 11027’42.60” N and 770 40’37.67” E. The Proposed K-CETP will be in an area of 12.15 acres. Site is open land however few bushes and small trees exist, which needs the clearance. The nearest railway station to the project location is the Erode Junction, which is about 14 km away and the nearest bus stand is the Erode central bus terminus which is located at a distance of about 14 km. The closest airport is in Coimbatore, which is located at a distance of 96 km from the site. There are two State Highways near the proposed project location, which are: • Bhavani to Anthiyur road in the western side at about 100m from the site. • Bhavani to Sathyamangalam/Athani road (SH-82) in the southern side at about 500m from the proposed site. Cauvery river is located around 2.0 km to the east, Bhavani river is located at a distance of around 1.0 km to the south and Kadayampatti lake at a distance of around 0.5 km to the north of the proposed project location. The proposed 8.0 MLD CETP is based on a Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) concept. The treatment methodologies proposed in this CETP comprises of Collection and Conveyance system, Pretreatment unit (PT), Reverse Osmosis system (RO) and Reject Management system.
