1 Descendants of Lieut. Israel Harding U.E.L. 19 August 2012 I. Lieut. Israel HARDING U.E.L. was born in 1733 in Warwick, Kent, RI, USA. He became a Lieutenant in the military during the French and Indian War, out of Colchester, Connecticut, Capt Stephen Hosmer's Company between 1755 and 1756. He immigrated in 1760 to Horton from CT; left 1771 and went back to CT, and returned again to Horton, NS in 1783. He died before 18 Jul 1794 at the age of 61 in probably Horton, Kings County, Nova Scotia, Canada per Esther Clark Wright's book "Planters and Pioneers". His burial place is unknown. Administration of his estate was given to the widow, Sarah, on 18 Jul 1794 in Horton, Kings County, Nova Scotia “No.37, Inventory of the Estate of the Late Israel Harding of Horton, Deceased". Israel was also known as "Col", "Capt." (Incorrect). He has reference number 1231.

Lieut. OBITUARY: Mrs. Emma Harding SWEENEY passed away Feb 27 (1964) at St Elizabeth's Hospital, North Sydney, after an illness of six months. She was the widow of the late F.Archibald SWEENEY. A resident of Carleton for many years, she had lived the past eight years with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr and Mrs Gordon MOORES, North Sydney. A daughter of the late Elizabeth (HAMILTON) and John HARDING, of Gavelton and Boston, Mass., she was 83 years of age. She was predeceased by a sister and two brothers, and is survived by seven daughters: Mrs. M. FORBES, Mrs. M. CROSBY, Mrs. H. ALLEN, Mrs. V. CLELAND, Miss Margery, all of Yarmouth County; Mrs. E. FRIZELL, Hamilton, Ont., and Mrs. G. MOORES, North Sydney. A daughter, May, predeceased her several years ago. Six sons: Harris, Ashael, Alfred, George, of Yarmouth County, Frederick, Whitby, Ont., and Edwin of British Colombia.
