God festival! Morten Krogh — festivalleder 4 Kære publikum CPH STAGE unites audiences and the theatre business to celebrate the dramatic arts together, and you are invited! Whether you are a drama newbie or a dye-hard theatre goer I hope you will accept our invitation. We believe that the stage has something for all of us and that the pro- ductions you can experience at this year’s festival are packed with zip and relevancy. Ellen Hillingsø, the chairperson of this year’s Highlights Committee, urges audiences to be bold: to throw themselves into new dramatic experiences. The festival programme provides a wealth of opportu- nities to do just that. There is dramatic art from Greenland to Brazil, from Ålborg to Svendborg. There are international productions in Eng- lish, Faeroese and Portuguese. There are free performances, subtitled performances and indoor and outdoor performances. We are proud of this year’s programme precisely because of this variety and because it brings together some of the year’s most popular shows. In our view theatre is for the masses, and with over a hundred produc- tions on the programme there is sure to be something in it for you too. Our website gives you the opportunity to search the programme, check out this year’s Highlights productions, find thematic guides, recom- mendations by people in the business, and far more besides. We have also ensured that you can navigate by genre, language and accessibility. We are making it easy to go to the theatre, and very hard not to! Have a great festival! • C:NTACT – Et Integrationsprojekt
Et teatershowroom En analyse af de personlige historier i C:NTACTs forestilling Maveplasker Af Helle Bach Riis Integreret speciale i Dansk og Kultur- og sprogmødestudier, 2008 Institut for Kultur og Identitet, Roskilde Universitetscenter Vejledere: Erik Svendsen og Birgitta Frello Abstract This dissertation comprises an analysis of the play Maveplasker. Maveplasker is a production of the Department of Integration and Education, C:NTACT, at the Betty Nansen Theatre in Copenhagen. C:NTACT’s intention is to use theatre to portray the diversity of the so called “others” in the Danish society. They do so by creating plays with young people from the age 15 to 25 who get on stage and tell their own, personal stories in the form of a coherent play to a live audience. The young people are not professional actors, and partly for this reason C:NTACT uses the term “reality theatre” to describe these productions. This dissertation argues that the Department, C:NTACT, plays an important role in the shaping of these personal stories – from the beginning the department defined what genres the young participants could express their personal stories through – while acknowledging that genres such as hip-hop an street-dance can lead to a somewhat stereotypical and impersonal portrayal of the young participants. With Maveplasker as its focus, this dissertation investigates what representation of “the others” C:NTACT actually ends up producing. The dissertation presents theories of performativity in order to see how identity categories such as “the others” are produced, reproduced but also possibly transformed. It presents theories of performative aesthetics in order to try and place Maveplasker somewhere in between the representative theatre and the performance in order to investigate the play’s potential to transform a generalised conception of “the others”.

JOHN TCHICAI DISCOGRAPHY Introduction This discography is the result of a special project following the preparation of the ”Danish Jazz Discography 1945-2000”. In the first phase John Tchicai did supply a lot of information on his recordings. However – because of the complications after he suffered a stroke in June 2012 – he did not see the final result. Edited by Erik Raben Please mail all corrections and comments to [email protected]. Content The Discography covers John Tchicai’s recordings 1962 – 2012. Available video recordings are also included. The Detailed Listing of Issues has information on the issues (LP/CD names etc.) – followed by the year of recording. An overview of some of the most relevant issues is found in the Selective Listing of Issues. LP/CD titles as well as the titles played are generally written with initial capital letters – except for titles in Scandinavian languages.
