Infidelities Then Is the Story of an Artist Who Betrayed His Talent. "If Dylan had remained faithful to the original concept of Infidels - one side raging against the darkness, the other calm in the face of despair - he would have made a classic album from his '80s period when his creativity was renewed but his commercial value was on a decline. Instead, bits and pieces of Infidels have appeared over the years in the form of bootlegs. So it has taken some time to recognise Infidels' beauty. Infidelities then is the story of an artist who betrayed his talent." • Sultanes Del Ritmo

VIDEO – YOUTUBE – Lonnie Donnegan – Puttin’ on the style http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TW9KUeMaJRQ Play the full video – 2min 50 Mark Freuder Knopfler was born on 12 August 1949 in Glasgow, Scotland, to an English mother and Hungarian Jewish father—an architect whose anti-fascist sympathies forced him to flee from his native Hungary in 1939.[8] The family settled in Knopfler's mother's home town of Blyth, Northumberland, in North East England when he was 7 years old. Inspired by Lonnie Donegan and his uncle Kingsley's harmonica and boogie-woogie piano playing, he wanted to buy an expensive Fiesta Red Fender Stratocaster just like Hank Marvin's, but had to settle for a £50 imitation. Unfortunately in his haste he forgot to budget for an amp, and after trying to plug it into his parent’s home radio and blowing it up, he had to settle for playing it against something solid to vaguely hear the notes instead.

MINTA 5 1.

July 1980 - Dire Straits began recording tracks from their third album Making Movies, which was released in October 1980. But during the recording sessions the tension between Mark and his brother David took its toll on the band, and that's why David decided to pursue a solo career. Sessions continued with Sid McGinnis (rhythm guitar) and keyboardist Roy Bittan of Bruce Springsteen ' s E Street Band. Sid McGinnis, Mark Knopfler and John Illsley. After the recording sessions, Alan Clark (keyboardist) and California guitarist Hal Lindes joined Dire Straits as members for upcoming tours of Europe and North America. Making Movies received positive reviews and featured songs with multiple style arrangements that would continue for the rest of the band's career. The album contains many of Mark Knopfler's personal compositions. The most successful single was Romeo and Juliet , which was number eight on the UK singles chart. That song is about a failed love story. Never released as a hit single, Solid Rock was featured on all Dire Straits live-show from now on for the rest of their career. The song Tunnel of Love with the introduction of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II ' s The Carousel Walts was included in the film An Officer and a Gentleman. Song peaked at number 54 on the UK singles chart when it was released as a single in 1981.
