The Greenest Vehicles of 2017 list specifies the 12 most environmentallyfriendly nameplates available to consumers this model year. The Hyundai Ioniq Electric earned a Green Score of 64. Only the topscoring configuration of each nameplate is included in this list. The Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid and Ioniq Blue earned a Green Score of 59 and 62, respectively. Scores are from a lifecycle analysis taking into account emissions from driving, manufacturing, and eventual recycling of the vehicles. “The Ioniq represents an important milestone in Hyundai’s global sustainability strategy as it meets the needs of a large and growing group of drivers who require a highly efficient, lowemissions vehicle for daily use”, said Mike O’Brien, vice president, corporate and product planning, Hyundai Motor America. “We are proud to have made such a prominent list in the competitive green vehicle segment.” The Ioniq ecofocused vehicle is the first in the world to offer three distinct electrified powertrains on a single, dedicated vehicle platform.
