REDUCED TRANSIT PROGRAM FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES, SENIORS AND STUDENTS Updated September 13, 2019

Qualified individuals who board any regularly scheduled fixed route at a may ride for one-half of the regular fare. Reduced fare program is also applicable to passes (day, weekly, monthly and annual passes). These passes are available for one-half the regular fare. Reduced fare is NOT applicable to curb-to-curb, ADA Complementary service. All qualified individuals who board the bus at a BUS STOP will need to show a valid photo identification (described below).

Qualification for People with Disabilities, Seniors, and Medicare Card Holders People with Disabilities, Senior citizens (age 60+), and Medicare Cardholders must show valid identification (ID) in one of the following categories to be eligible for reduced on Annapolis Transit services:

1. Annapolis Transit Reduced Fare Photo Identification Card for persons with disabilities. If you do not have one, you may apply using Application for Reduced Transit Fare Identification Card for Persons with Disabilities. This application is for people who do not qualify for ADA Complementary Paratransit Service.)

2. Annapolis Transit ADA Complementary Paratransit photo ID Card. If you do not have one, you may apply using ADA Paratransit Service Application.

3. Government issued photo ID showing age 60 and over.

4. Disability ID from another transit agency and government issued photo identification card.

5. Medicare card and government issued photo identification for individuals UNDER age 60.

Seniors (60 and over) may apply for a no cost Maryland Photo Identification Card at any Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration Office.

Students Effective September 2018, students (K – 12) who live within the City of Annapolis ride free during school months.

The following applies to all other students who live outside the City of Annapolis but within the Annapolis Transit service area. A student with a valid school-issued photo identification card can ride for one-half the regular fare on regular bus service for a one-way trip. Student fares are applicable on weekdays, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

“Student” is defined as a person enrolled in parochial, private/public schools and colleges including the Naval Academy in the Annapolis Transit Service area. The student must present a valid student photo ID with name, address, gender, the name of school, and the date it was issued.
