To Assignment Editor Hong Kong International Film & TV Market Attracts 600 Exhibitors One of Ten Entertainment Expo Events, FILMART Opens Monday 18 March 2011 – Some 600 exhibitors from 29 countries and regions will take part in the 15th Hong Kong International Film and TV Market (FILMART), which opens 21 March and continues through 24 March at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). One of the three largest entertainment industry markets in the world, FILMART will showcase the latest film and TV productions, digital entertainment applications and post-production services. The fair also promotes Hong Kong as the region’s leading film and TV production and distribution hub. This year’s FILMART will, for the first time, include a pavilion from the United States. Organised by the Independent Film & TV Alliance (IFTA), the US pavilion will feature about 20 American companies. FILMART will also welcome a first-time pavilion from Cambodia, as well as a pan-European pavilion. Also new will be the "Co-production Lab Hong Kong," organised by Ateliers du Cinéma Européen (ACE) and Sinapses Asia Ltd, with support from the HKTDC, the Hong Kong Asia Film Financing Forum and other organisations, including the European Union’s Media International. About 20 producers from Asia and Europe will take part in the four-day, project-based workshop. The event will feature panel discussions, individual pitching, consulting sessions, market presentations and advice from experts. About 300 screenings and more than 60 seminars and networking events will also be held. Fair organiser the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) will hold a media tour, 21 March. We cordially invite you and your representatives to cover FILMART and its related events. Please register at our media centre, located at the Hall 1C Concourse, HKCEC.
