The Project is a philanthropic association of American photographers established in 2012 by California photographers Robert von Sternberg and Darryl Curran with the goal of expressing gratitude towards institutions that support the photographic form. Through the project, participating artists, or their representatives, donate vintage and contemporary prints of their work to select museum collections.

THE MUSEUM PROJECT

Since origination in October 2012 The Museum Project has to date donated in excess of 3,854 prints in 49 states, Washington DC, Australia, Canada, France, and Great Britain to the permanent collections of 142 museum or university museum collections, 10 libraries with special collections of , and 9 municipal or hospital foundation collections.

With the collaborative efforts of Darryl Curran as Administrative Advisor and Selections Consultant, we have established a distinguished group of pre-eminent American artists who would like to express their gratitude for the institutional support of, and commitment to, photography as an art form.
