Celebrity makeup artist Mally Roncal visited The Early Show to show how to get yourself looking great without having your face melt off in the summer heat! FACE: Products: Laura Gellar Spackle Tinted Under Make-up Primer QVC.com $24.00 Cle De Peau Beaute Powder Foundation Saks Fifth Avenue Stores $75.00 Shiseido Multi Shade Enhancer Sephora.com $25.00 E.L.F Mineral Powder Foundation SPF15 eyelipsface.com $5.00 As soon as heat and humidity set in, so does sweating. And if you're wearing foundation, it can turn into a greasy, slick mess, leaving your skin looking oily, streaky, and patched with clumps of makeup. So can you get your skin looking dewy and beautiful without having the heat melt it off? The secret, says Mally, is to use primer and a powder foundation. The primer will lock moisture into your skin, and provide a smooth surface to apply foundation on; the powder foundation will cover your skin to even it out and make it look glowy without risking melting (since it's oil free) Directions: 1) Apply the primer all over an already cleansed and moisturized face and allow to sink in skin for one minute. 2) Apply a powder foundation with a brush in a circular motion buffing it into the skin. This works the best because it gives a seamless natural finish that doesn't look like makeup. It also combats shine, and it's an all-in-one foundation & powder application! EYES: Products: YSL EverlongWaterproof Mascara YSLbeautyus.com $27.50 Mally Beauty 24/7 Eye-lining System QVC.com $25.00 Many women find that after applying their eye makeup in the morning, by mid-afternoon it's run and melted down their eyes, leaving them with dark streaks and shadows well below the lash line.

  • Rehearsal, Show, Hair & Makeup Guidelines
Rehearsal, Show, Hair & Makeup Guidelines Rehearsal & Show Guidelines to Make a JOYful Experience for All: ALWAYS – Check to be sure you have everything needed. Designate a “Show Bag” with all your items. We provided a checklist for costume pieces in the Costume Book to make it easier. We recommend making your own checklist for Hip Hop Costumes. Check these lists before coming to the show and when leaving the theater every time. – Write names on all costume pieces, tights and shoes. – Please plan ahead and be on time. – Costumes should be clean and unwrinkled. – Sewing is always preferred over pinning when making any costume fixes/adjustments. – Underwear should not be worn under tights if they are visible or show lines. If the audience can’t see them under your costume, no one needs to know. – Please do not wear any jewelry that doesn’t go with the costume. Neat nail polish as part of your hip hop style / finale costume is fine, but no nail polish in matchingcostumed classes. – Please plan meals accordingly. Pack a water bottle and small snacks. Please have a wrap or cover up available because it’s never a good idea to eat in costume. REHEARSAL – Only one parent or guardian per dancer at the Rehearsal please. – Videotaping and Flash Photography are not allowed. Nonflash photos at Rehearsal are fine! We want dancers to get to rehearse without the pressure of being videotaped. – Hair & Makeup should be done at the Dress Rehearsal. We would like to see if a dancer needs more or less of anything.

It is a comparative case study on cosmetic brands using one brand for each country- Maybelline New York (the U.S) and Maquillage (Japan). The paper starts off with introducing the two brands by providing the history and the background information of each brand. Company information of the owners of the brands (L’Oréal and Shiseido) is also included. In addition, an overview of current makeup market in the US and Japan is also written as extra background information. The two brands are chosen due to many similarities making it a fair comparison. They are similar in terms of price, the target market and the fact that they are both owned by global beauty companies. In terms of definition of beauty, the analysis is divided into body parts: skin, lips and eyes- specifically, eyeshadow for the eyes.

Skin Bleaching and Global White Supremacy: By Way of Introduction Yaba Amgborale Blay, PhD Lafayette College Co-editor of this Special Issue of the Journal of Pan African Studies, Yaba Amgborale Blay ([email protected]) is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Africana Studies at Lafayette College where she also teaches courses in Women's & Gender Studies. Her research interests include African cultural aesthetics and aesthetic practices, the politics of embodiment and Black identities, transnational skin bleaching, African feminist theory, and critical media literacy. Dr. Blay is the recipient of a 2010 Leeway Foundation Art and Change Grant through which she will publish The Other Side of Blackness, a portrait documentary exploring the intersection of skin color politics and negotiations of Black identity. Abstract The cosmetic use of chemical agents to lighten the complexion of one’s skin, also referred to as skin whitening, skin lightening, and/or skin bleaching, is currently a widespread global phenomenon. While the history of skin bleaching can be traced to the Elizabethan age of powder and paint, in its current manifestations, skin bleaching is practiced disproportionately within communities “of color” and exceedingly among people of African descent. While it is true that skin bleaching represents a multifaceted phenomenon, with a complexity of historical, cultural, sociopolitical, and psychological forces motivating the practice, the large majority of scholars who examine skin bleaching at the very least acknowledge the institutions
