HOME LEARNING Subject: History- Year 8 – A pirate’s life Time to complete: 50 minutes Learning Objective: To recall details about a pirate’s life. To create your Pirate name. TASK 1: Read the Pirates Code and decide if you think the rules are fair or unfair. TASK 2: Watch the Horrible Histories clip about Pirate rules. TASK 3: Match the pirate punishment to the picture of that punishment. TASK 4: Create your own pirate name using the instructions. PLEASE REMEMBER YOU CAN DO AS MANY OF THE TASKS AS YOU ARE ABLE TO DO. BUT PLEASE DO TASK 4 *****YOU WILL LOVE IT AND YOU CAN DO IT FOR ALL YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS!****** Save your work: If you are using a computer, open a blank document to do your work (you can use Word or Publisher). This was a set of rules about how pirates were expected to behave on board a pirate ship. If they broke these rules they were punished severely. The rules were written down and stuck up on board the ship so all the pirates could read them. *All pirates get to vote on who is the Captain. *No gambling (no playing games for money) *No women on board ship *All pirates must be ready to do battle *Pirates must keep their knives, pistols, and cutlass clean and fit for service. *Every pirate gets the same amount of food and drink *Every pirate gets to vote on where the ship goes. *Lights out by 8pm *Every pirate does what the captain says. * All booty (stolen treasure) on board the ship gets shared equally.
