Tagger crews primarily do graffiti. They usually consist of no more than three individuals, who are more interested in street art than violent criminal activities. Taggers are the predominant source of graffiti within Salt Lake County. They typically will not cross out the graffiti of other tagging crews or street gangs. “Battles” or wars, waged between groups of taggers, can create thousands of dollars worth of damage in a single night as tagging crews compete to put up the most graffiti. Graffiti is the tagger’s voice. They do graffiti for fun, to gain status with other Wtaggingh ycrews,? and because they become addicted to the adrenaline rush they get when they tag.

Sanitarian (R) United States Public Healtli Service The brackish marshes bordering the Great Salt Lake are proUtic mosquito breeding areas ; they also are the habitat of predaceous tiies which find a plentiful source of food in the mosquito larvae and pupae that become stranded in shallow water and mud during the dry periods of late spring and early summer. Inspections conducted in this area during May and June of 1945 and 1946 afforded the writer several opportunities to observe five species of predaceous flies vvhich were preying on moscjuito larvae and pupae. The observations were made at a time when the marginal areas of the extensive marshland were rapidly drying out. resulting in a heavy concentration of larvae and pupae in the shallow water of nu- merous pools.

October 2019 South Jordan Moderate Income Housing Plan October 2019 Housing Market Overview Housing growth and affordability has been capturing headlines across the country. The demand for new housing units is especially strong in Utah where the population is projected to double in the next 25-30 years. The State’s economy is strong, having added nearly 375,000 new jobs in the past 10 years. In comparison, Wyoming has grown by 7,800 jobs, while Idaho has added 140,000 new jobs.1 Salt Lake County (the County) is projected to grow by 6,079 new households per year, placing a significant demand on housing stock. Further, Utah’s households are unique. The State has the lowest median age in the nation and the highest median household size, which influences the type of housing product that the State needs. While incomes in Utah are the second-fastest growing in the nation, Utah’s inflation rate is near an all- time high at 3.9 percent. Nationally, the average is only 1.6 percent. Transportation costs are a critical factor when evaluating housing affordability. In the County annual transportation costs are $13,999, representing 23.0 percent of average incomes.2 Costs are probably slightly higher in South Jordan where the daily average commute time is slightly higher than the County average. Although housing affordability is a concern in Utah, home prices along the Wasatch Front are still substantially more affordable than in other economic centers in the West.

    Sean Patrick Griffin, Professor of Criminal Justice, received his Ph.D. in the Administration of Justice (Sociology) from The Pennsylvania State University. Dr. Griffin, a former Philadelphia Police Officer, has authored peer-reviewed articles on the following topics: police legitimacy, police abuse of force, the social construction of white-collar crime, securities frauds, professional sports gambling, international narcotics trafficking and money laundering, political corruption, and organized crime. Dr. Griffin is the author of the critically-acclaimed text Philadelphia’s Black Mafia: A Social and Political History (Springer, 2003), and of the best-selling, more mainstream Black Brothers, Inc.: The Violent Rise and Fall of Philadelphia’s Black Mafia (Milo, 2005/2007). Each book is currently being/has been updated and revised to reflect historical events that have transpired since their respective initial publications. In 2007, Black Entertainment Television (BET) based an episode (“Philly Black Mafia: ‘Do For Self’”) of its popular “American Gangster” series on Black Brothers, Inc.     III MEMETIC REFRAMING Christian Patterson’s Redheaded Peckerwood In December 1957, Charles Starkweather and his girlfriend Caril Ann Fugate embarked on a murder spree that shocked the US population. And even today, more than sixty years later, the so-called ‘Starkweather case’ keeps haunting the North American people as part of the country’s collective imagination. This situation is testified to by Christian Patterson’s evolving photobook Redheaded Peckerwood (2011, 2012, 2013),404 which contains a visually diverse selection of photographs, each of which points suggestively to the Starkweather case.405 The historical murder spree is undoubtedly Redheaded Peckerwood’s narrative centre. However, I argue that the criminal case merely serves a reflection on how ‘frames’, which are sets of conventions that govern the representation of historical events, are disseminated in culture.406 That argument, I claim, is conditioned by a memetic principle of rereading that allows the frame to appear multiple times according to the meme’s emergent logic of imitation through variation. ‘Memes’, according to Richard Dawkins’s initial definition of the phenomenon, are units of cultural transmission that propagate themselves in ever-changing form by leaping from brain to brain, often via magazines, computers, movies, and other technological platforms.407 Humans cannot entirely control these processes,408 and I argue that the same might be said of the process of rereading Redheaded Peckerwood, since it is partially governed by algorithms. The smartphone revolution around 2010 introduces the so-called ‘post-digital’ era, that is, the situation wherein humans no longer control the digital realm, since portable digital devices allow for a permanent extension of subjectivity across the Internet.409 Within this contemporary context, I contend that humans are habituated to meeting ambiguity and elusiveness with immediate online searches.

I found some criteria for early- warning signs of antisemitic, bigoted and genocidal activities. I included a summary of neo-Nazi and white supremacy groups in modern American and then moved to a more specific focus on contemporary and prominent groups like Atomwaffen Division, the Proud Boys, the Vinlanders Social Club, the Base, Rise Against Movement, the Hammerskins, and other prominent antisemitic and hate-driven groups. Trends of hate-speech, acts of vandalism and acts of violence within the past fifty years were examined. Also, how law enforcement and the legal system has responded to these activities has been included as well. The different methods these groups use for indoctrination of younger generations has been an important aspect of my research: the consistent use of hate-rock and how hate-groups have co-opted punk and hardcore music to further their ideology. Live-music concerts and festivals surrounding these types of bands and how hate-groups have used music as a means to fund their more violent activities have been crucial components of my research as well. The use of other forms of music and the reactions of non-hate-based artists are also included. The use of the internet, social media and other digital means has also be a primary point of discussion.
