IF THE SYSTEM IS PLACED IN PROGRAM MODE IT WILL ERASE ALL PREVIOUSLY PROGRAMMED TRANSMITTERS UPON THE RECEIPT OF THE PROGRAMMING SIGNAL FROM THE FIRST TRANSMITTER. UP TO FOUR TRANSMIT- TERS CAN BE PROGRAMMED. TO PREVENT THE PROGRAMMING OF TRANSMITTERS TO AN INCORRECT VEHICLE, DO NOT OPERATE OR PROGRAM THE TRANSMITTERS IN THE VICINITY OF OTHER VEHICLES THAT ARE IN THE KEYLESS ENTRY PROGRAM MODE. TRANSMITTER PROGRAMMING PROCEDURE 1. Close the vehicle doors. 2. Turn OFF the ignition. 3. Remove the ignition key from the ignition lock cylinder. 4. Press and hold the driver side door lock switch to the unlock position. 5. Insert the ignition key into the ignition lock cylinder and remove the key. (Do not turn the ignition key in the lock cylinder.) 6. Repeat Step 5. 7. Insert the ignition key into the ignition lock cylinder. (Do not turn the ignition key in the lock cylinder.) Leave the ignition key in the igni- tion lock cylinder. 8. Release the door lock switch. The body control module (BCM) will sound three chimes in order to verify the Program Mode has been activated. 9. Press the lock and unlock buttons on the keyless entry transmitter simultaneously for approximately 15 seconds. The BCM will sound three chimes in order to verify that the transmitter has been suc- cessfully programmed. 10. Perform the previous step to program up to four transmitters. 11. Remove the ignition key in order to exit the Program Mode. 12. Verify the proper operation of each transmitter. Remove the ignition key from the ignition lock cylinder. 2. Close all of the doors. 3. Remove the MALL PGM fuse from the fuse block. (Refer to “Instru- ment Panel Fuse Block” in your Owner’s Manual for the location of your fuse block and the Fuse Usage Chart.) 4. Insert the ignition key into the ignition lock cylinder. 5. Turn the ignition to ACC. 6. Turn the ignition to OFF, and then back to ACC within 1 second. 7. Open and then close any vehicle door. The vehicle will chime in order to confirm that the programming mode has been entered. 8. Press and hold the transmitter LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simul- taneously for approximately 14 seconds. CAUTION: IMPORTANT: TEXT AFTER APPROXIMATELY 7 SECONDS THE VEHICLE WILL CHIME ONCE TO CONFIRM THAT SYNCHRONIZATION HAS BEEN COMPLETED. AFTER APPROXI- MATELY 14 SECONDS THE VEHICLE WILL CHIME A SECOND TIME TO CONFIRM THAT THE PROGRAMMING HAS BEEN COMPLETED. 9. Repeat the previous step in order to program each additional trans- mitter. 10. Remove the ignition key from the ignition lock cylinder. 11. Install the MALL PGM fuse into the fuse block. 12. Operate the functions of each transmitter in order to verify correct system operation. Instruction_Sheet_Key_Fobs_012.
