Heritage Preparatory School 8th Annual Auction October 22nd, 2011 Carlos Hellenic Center HERITAGE PREPARATORY SCHOOL 1700 Piedmont Avenue, NE Atlanta, GA 30324-5213 www.heritageprep.org My personal list of hot items to bid on: ITEM# NAME PAGE NOTES Heritage Family and Friends, Thank you for attending tonight’s annual Heritage Auction at the beautiful Carlos Hellenic Center! Our theme for this year is “Redeeming the Time” and our sincere hope is that you will bid generously on items that will help you redeem the time for God’s glory and in doing so benefit and continue the mission of our unique school. As co-chairs, we have been truly blessed to be a part of planning this auction and have enjoyed building community while working for a great goal. Most importantly, we have been eye-witnesses to the body of Christ in action and how God is truly in charge with the provisions of donations, dedicated helpers and attention to details. There is blessing in hard work and we are grateful for the opportunity to see God’s hand in the center of it all! There really is no other fundraiser quite like a Heritage auction! We would like to thank the families, friends and fabulous auction team who have worked tirelessly and joyfully to put this special evening together. The creativity and multiple talents from within our school community has overwhelmingly exceeded our human expectations. Only with God! Please thank and support the businesses who have also contributed generously. Our prayer is that you and your family will have a wonderful evening of fellowship, fun and generous bidding as we work together to celebrate what God is doing at Heritage. And may we echo King David who writes in Psalm 109:27, “Let them know that it is your hand, that you, O Lord, have done it.” Sincerely, Jessica Lalley & Holly Owens Auction 2011 Co-Chairs October 22, 2011 Dear Heritage families and friends, On behalf of the entire Heritage community, welcome to the 8th annual Heritage Preparatory School Silent Auction - Redeeming the Time. Ephesians 5:15-16 reminds us to “Be very careful, then, how you live - not he Evening’s Program as unwise but as wise, redeeming the time . .” As parents, we have so T little time to influence and prepare our children for adulthood. It seems we are just bringing our little ones home from the hospital then with a blink of the eye they are marching across the graduation stage. It has been said, that as parents the days seem long, but the years are very short. Very true. Check-in Understanding this limited season of influence, Heritage families wish Silent Auction bidding starts to redeem the time “now”. Families are drawn to Heritage because 7:00 pm “Gotta Have It” section opens we value and steward time with our children through our approach to education. One practical and unique Heritage distinctive is that the Hors d’oeuvres buffet school allows parents to redeem the time now by scheduling shorter class periods on fewer days for our youngest students. This allows more time at home during the very short, but very precious, early childhood season. For many attending this evening, you may not be familiar with Heritage. Heritage is a loving school community of teachers and like-minded First Closing parents who are building the next generation of servant-leaders by 8:20 pm emphasizing excellence with regard to academic achievement, Christ-like faith, and character development. The school was founded in 1998 to provide a classical, Christ-centered school in Atlanta. Heritage students consistently score in the top Second Closing percentiles on standardized tests. Classes are intentionally small to 8:40 pm ensure that each student receives the individual attention he or she deserves. The curriculum content is “classical” in that it emphasizes timeless works of literature, music, art, history, Latin, science and Third Closing mathematics. And it incorporates the methodology of the educator Charlotte Mason by focusing on good habits, nature studies, and joyful 8:50 pm Desserts and Hot Chocolate Bar open discovery in learning. In a time of increasing modernity and the softening of standards and values, please pause to consider the importance of a school like Heritage. To ensure that our mission is fulfilled for the future, remember Final Closing that all the items auctioned tonight immediately benefit the needs and 9:00 pm operations of the school. This year our acquisition team has focused heavily on items where people are already spending money - trying to add value and “time” to Raffle and Live Auction their lives. This is not the place to “bargain shop;” instead, please allow yourself to be generous, spontaneous in your bidding, and to go “a little 9:10 pm Auctioneer: Uladia Taylor crazy”. By doing so, you will enjoy both the fun and the deep sense of satisfaction that comes with knowing you are helping a worthy cause. May you enjoy your time this evening – leaving with your heart fuller and Check-out begins with your wallets emptied in generosity! 9:40pm Sincerely, William F. “Woody” Faulk Please remember to bring your credit card and/or checkbook President, Board of Trustees along with your catalog that includes your bid number to the big event on October 22.
