BOB MARGOLIN - DEEP BLUES Bob is prominent in today’s Blues scene. He tours worldwide at festivals, concerts, clubs and workshops. His self-titled album reveals the latest from the 2017 Blues Music Award winner for Best Male Traditional Blues Artist. Released Oct. 12, 2018 by the VizzTone Label Group (Bob is a founding partner), six new original songs are his Blues for today’s world. He also interprets nine songs he learned “back in the day” from his legendary friends Muddy Waters, The Band, Johnny Winter, Jimmy Rogers, Snooky Pryor, Pinetop Perkins and James Cotton. Bob played and sang every note, produced, recorded and mixed this album. In early 2017 Bob was featured on The Last Waltz 40 Tour, celebrating the movie and concert. Bob led songs played with Warren Haynes, Don Was, Jamey Johnson, Taj Mahal, Dr. John, Michael McDonald, Garth Hudson, and more. Bob was in the original 1976 Last Waltz concert and film, playing with Muddy Waters and The Band. In 2018 and 2019 Bob will be performing: • with the Bob Margolin Trio • with the Bobs of the Blues - Bob Corritore & Bob Stroger • Guesting with other bands, making a stronger billing than separately • Solo Bob leads "Mannish Boy" Last Waltz 40 Tour “Heaven Mississippi” from My Road From 1973-‘80 Bob played guitar in Muddy Waters’ band, appearing on all the albums Muddy made then and at special shows like The Last Waltz. Since 1980, Bob performs his own songs, but still honors his historic and personal connection to Muddy Waters. December 2011 Kilborn Alley Blues Band CD Release Party By Rich Cibelli What do you get when you cross one of the hottest local blues bands around just home from a great tour of Europe and a cold late November Tuesday night at The Iron Post in Urbana? Answer -- The Kilborn Alley Blues Band “Four” CD release party. The band, which actually returned the morning of the show, showed some signs of jet lag. But that didn’t stop them from putting on one of the best performances that this writer has seen. Blues fans, that is dedication from the heart -- a plain and simple fact. There is no way to teach this. You either have it or not. The Kilborn Alley Blues Band has it. Period! Their self-released debut, “No B!,” was released in November. Notable stages they’ve graced include Pappy & Harriet’s [email protected] (Pioneertown, CA), Dogfish Head Brewery (Rehoboth Beach, DE), the Harrisburg Midtown Arts Center (Harrisburg, PA), Ojai Deer Lodge (Ojai, CA), and the Wonderbar (Asbury Park, NJ). Back home in NYC, they can be seen at the Knitting Factory, Mercury Lounge, Bitter End and Rock Shop, among other places. The band’s calling cards are songs by Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, Johnny Winter, Big Mama Thornton, and other blues greats—all fed through double lead guitars, a heavy rhythm section, and soul-scouring vocals. These women are by no means new to the game. Between the five band members, they have decades of experience playing, recording and touring both nationally and internationally. Individually, the members of Jane Lee Hooker have played for thousands of fans while sharing bills with the likes of Motorhead, MC5, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Deep Purple, among others. And they’ve played more club gigs in more cities than even they can believe. So how’d this gang of pros finally find each other? Guitarists Hightop and Tina honed their mutual love of blazing dual leads during their time together in Helldorado in the 90s. From there, Hightop joined Nashville Pussy, Tina joined Bad Wizard, and both women toured the world.

Comincia a impugnare la chitarra all’età di 15 anni e sin da ragazzo si ispira alla musica di Chuck Berris e Muddy Waters. Nel 1973 Bob assiste a un concerto di Muddy Waters e lo stesso Muddy gli propone di suonare nella sua band. Bob ha quindi la possibilità di imparare a suonare la chitarra non più ascoltando i dischi di Waters ma suonando con lui. L’amicizia con Muddy porta Bob a girare il mondo e a salire su molti palchi tra cui, nel 1976, quello del concerto di The Band The Last Waltz che il regista Martin Scorsese rende immortale nel film omonimo. Gli anni 80 vedono Bob collaborare con numerosi artisti tra cui Steve Jacobs, Big Joe Maher, Tom Principato, Fats Jackson, Sweet Betty e Nappy Brown. Bob Corritore Bio Bob Corritore is one of the most active and highly regarded blues harmonica players on the scene today. His style passionately carries forward the old school of playing that Corritore learned as a young man directly from many of original pioneers of Chicago Blues. His sympathetic, yet fiery harmonica playing is featured on over 25 releases to date, on labels such as HighTone, HMG, Blue Witch, Blind Pig, Earwig, Putumayo, Random Chance, and the VizzTone Label Group. Many of these acclaimed releases have been nominated for various Handy, Grammy, and Blues Music Awards. Bob is also widely recognized for his many roles in the blues, as band leader, club owner, record producer, radio show host, arts foundation founder, and occasional writer. His amazing website www.bobcorritore.com and his weekly e-newsletter reflect a life thoroughly invested in the blues. Born on September 27, 1956 in Chicago, Bob first heard Muddy Waters on the radio at age 12, an event which changed his life forever. Within a year, he was playing harmonica and collecting blues albums. He would see blues shows in his early teens, including attending a Muddy Waters performance at his high school gymnasium. He would cut his teeth sitting in with John Henry Davis on Maxwell Street until he was old enough to sneak into blues clubs. He hung around great harp players such as Big Walter Horton, Little Mack Simmons, Louis Myers, Junior Wells, Big John Wrencher, and Carey Bell, and received harmonica tips and encouragement from many of them. He would regularly see the Aces, Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters, Billy Boy Arnold, John Brim, Sunnyland Slim, Smokey Smothers, Eddie Taylor, and in many cases became personal friends with these blues veterans.

B L U E I N K APRIL 2016 Gator By the Bay Brings Musicians Together in Exciting Pairings Now in its 15th year, Gator By the Bay, May 5-8, 2016, has become a wildly popular San Diego festival tradition known for presenting an eclectic mix of musical styles and a fun- filled atmosphere. Wander among the festival’s seven stages and you can listen to everything from authentic Louisiana Cajun and Zydeco music to Chicago and West Coast Blues, from Latin to Rockabilly and Swing. In recent years, Gator By the Bay has also earned a stand-out reputation for bringing together stellar combinations of musicians in innovative mash-up performances, presenting musical groupings you won’t hear anywhere else. This year is no exception. On Saturday, May 7, San Diego’s own multiple gold guitarist Johnny Vernazza will share the Mardi Gras Stage with blues greats Roy Rogers and John Németh. Often lauded as the “Master of the Slide Guitar”, Roy Rogers’ distinctive style is instantly recognizable. He’s shared duets with such greats as John Lee Hooker and Allen Toussaint, and teamed up with the likes of Norton Buffalo and Ray Manzarek. Harmonica virtuoso, vocalist and songwriter John Németh has multiple Blues Music Awards nominations to his name, and his album, ‘Memphis Grease’, won Best Soul Blues Album at the 2015 Blues Music Awards. He has been nominated for the Blues Music Awards 2016 B.B. King Entertainer of the Year Award, to be given out on May 5.
