WUGC RESULTS

The 2016 WUGC WOMEN’S BRONZE took place on June 18-25 in WOMEN’S London, UK. SILVER Canada earned MASTERS 2 silver medals (Open Masters OPEN 4th and Women’s Masters), 2 bronze OPEN SILVER medals (Mixed MASTERS and Women’s) and a 4th place finish MIXED BRONZE in Open. Based on our results Canada has qualified for the 2017 World Games.

2016 was the first year that a UC appointed selector on selection committees.

2017 WCBU TC U24

2017 World GameS PAST RESULTS

The 2017 World Games are taking place in Wroclaw, Poland in July, 2001 GOLD 2017. In 2016, Ultimate Canada selected Scott Hastie and Tasia Balding 2005 BRONZE as coaches. The initial roster of 20 players was selected in 2016 following a set of tryouts on both sides of the country. Ultimate Canada hired Mike 2009 4th Haddock as UC’s first strength and conditioning coach. 2013 BRONZE COMPETITION

2016 Competition Programs 2016 Observer Program Ultimate Canada offered observer clinics in , Montreal, Toronto and, for the first time, Halifax.

2016 Acadian Games Ultimate was included in the 2016 Acadian Games. This multi-sport event offers events for Francophones and Acadians from all over the Atlantic provinces since 1979, where the participants celebrate their culture through different competitions. DEVELOPMENT

Art HAWKINS DEVELOPMENT FUND

Through the AH Development Fund, Ultimate Canada was able to fund three development projects in 2016: The Shaughnessy noon-hour and club Ultimate program, The AUM youth recreation league and Fun Spirit’s FunFit program geared at teenaged girls.

Teacher Training and Rules VIDEOS NCCP CertiFication Ultimate Canada released the first instructional rules video in a new rules video series. Work began on a teacher training curriculum document and course that will be launched in 2017.

Two learning facilitator training sessions have been held this year. The community stream learning facilitator training took place in Vancouver on March 6-7, 2016 with six LFs trained, while the competition stream training took place in Ottawa on April 1-3, 2016 with eight LFs trained.

Ultimate CAnada Prospect Camps

Ultimate Canada hosted 3 prospect camps for the U24 program this year: September 3-4 in Halifax, September 17-18 in Toronto and October 22-23 in Vancouver. Over 200 athletes attended the prospect camps and the first Atlantic camp was held this year. COMMUNICATIONS

The 2016 Art Hawkins Great Canadian Ultimate Game took place in 34 communities across Canada and abroad. The game featured events in Dubai, Malaysia, Cambodia and Ireland on top of the 30+ communities in Canada. Over $7,000 was raised for the AH Fund.
