Japanese Programs 2016‒2017 日本語 大阪 SETSUNAN UNIVERSITY INTERNATIONAL CENTER JAPANESE PROGRAMS 2016‒2017 SETSUNAN UNIVERSITY About Setsunan Setsunan University was established in 1975. It has 7 faculties and 13 departments in combination with arts and sciences, and has 6 graduate courses with 10 majors. Approximately 8,300 students are studying. We have two campuses in Neyagawa city and Hirakata city in Osaka prefecture. The main Neyagawa Campus has the International Center that provides Japanese language courses for short-term international students, and Japanese language tutorial for full-time international students. Osaka is also known as a town of sightseeing, culture, and gourmet, so it enchants many tourists. The population of Neyagawa is about 240,000. It is located on the northeast of Osaka prefecture, about 15 kilometers from the center of Osaka city, and about 35 kilometers from the center of Kyoto city. If you take the train from Neyagawa city of Keihan line, you can get to Osaka city in about 20 minutes, and to Kyoto city in about 40 minutes. And we also offer shorter intensive course on request. There are classes to train skills such as reading, writing, listening, and speaking, and classes with various themes about Japanese society and culture. You can effectively improve Japanese proficiency from JLPT N3 （intermediate level）to N1（advanced level）. There are also chances to experience Japanese culture in practice, and study with Japanese students. There are currently 50 registered supporters. They are involved in various activities such as helping daily life of international students, helping them in field trips, and organizing events. Training Center Library Computing room All training machines are available at any time if you attend a course on ahead. There are about 480,000 books and latest Techno Center DVD. We have about 600 latest computers in 8 rooms in total. Cafeteria Kiosk, Lounge It has various types of machines. We often provide an opportunity to see them for visitors. Club You can choose Japanese-style, western- style, and Chinese-style to taste. You can get some snacks, stationeries, books, etc. here. At the lounge in front of the kiosk, you can watch TV programs. We have 38 sports and 27 arts clubs. International students are welcome. 5 Field Trips & Local Contribution Activities Short-term international students are taking full opportunities to jump out of a classroom to learn Japanese culture. They also contribute to the local community by giving a class at schools as guest speakers, and by introducing culture of their home countries. Room charge For monthly rent : 1 bed room : 50,000 yen per month Accommodation (exc. expenses for utilities) For short stay : 2 bed or 3 bed room : 2,000〜6,000 yen per day/room International House (incl. expenses for utilities) （On-campus & Off-campus Dormitory） We have two dormitories on-campus and off-campus available for international students. Each room is fully furnished with a bathroom, an air conditioner, a sink, a bed, a desk, and a refrigerator, etc. The accommodation fee for a standard room is 50,000 yen per month, but international students who stay over 6 months may receive financial aid. The daytime temperatures observed on 10 HT events in this area were the highest in the southern area of Kyoto [area with no Automated Meteorological Data Acquisition System (AMeDAS) observation sites]. To quantitatively evaluate the formation mecha- nisms of HT events, a heat budget analysis on an atmospheric column was conducted using the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model. The results showed that over the HT area the daytime column temperature increased as a result of sensible-heat diffusion generated from the urban surface at the contri- bution rate of 54% and as a result of the sensible-heat advection and diffusion supplied from the sides and at the top of the column at the rate of 46% of all sensible heat supplied. To clarify previously unreported effects of synoptic-scale winds under typical summer pressure patterns on the HT events, a sensitivity experiment with no surface heat fluxes, backward trajectory analysis, and Euler forward tracer analysis was performed.

Production and Distribution Facilities Regarding Kashima Plant (Kamisu, Ibaraki) and Ashikaga Plant (Ashikaga, Tochigi) that their operations have been suspended, of Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma Factory Ltd., the consolidated production subsidiary of the Company, both plants now have a schedule to resume operations in mid-April. Currently final facility inspections are conducted to meet this schedule and developing a production plan that takes into account the effects of rolling blackouts. Our East Japan Distribution Center (Kashiwa, Chiba), its operations has been suspended because of the damage to a part of the buildings and facilities, and its warehousing functions have been complemented with preferentially utilizing West Japan Distribution Center (Hirakata, Osaka) as an interim measure against this situation. However, East Japan Distribution Center now has a schedule for resuming warehouse operations, and recommences them sequentially from mid-April. 2. Product Supply Inventory standards for our major products have been secured for the most part, and the Company foresees no impediments to the stable supply of our products in this respect.

Although you can make your own arrangements to get to Kansai Gaidai, we strongly recommend that you take advantage of our pick-up service in order to ensure your smooth arrival. It is important to note that, given the distance from the above two gateways to Kansai Gaidai, if you are not familiar with Japan’s public transportation system, you will likely encounter some difficulties on the way to Kansai Gaidai.
