The Madness of March is running. The winged feet fly, the ball sails high And field goal hunters are gunning. The colors clash as silk suits flash And race on a shimmering floor. Repressions die, and partisans vie In a goal acclaiming roar. On Championship Trail toward a holy grail, All fans are birds of a feather. It's fiesta night and cares lie light When the air is full of leather. Since time began, the instincts of man Prove cave and current men kin. On tournament night the sage and the wighl Are relatives under the skin. It's festival time,—sans reason or rhyme But with nationwide appeal. Cox Editor's Note: The article below is reprinted from iiie Minnesota State High School League Bulletin. -It first ap- peared in the Silver Bay News. By all means, let's lower all the standards of moral- ity, integrity and decency. Let's dispense with tmy i-ules and regulations that may restrict any individual in his pursuit of happiness. Let's make things as "easy" as possible for everyone—and heaven forbid that we should expect any young people to confoi'm to any set pattern established by an older generation which is still guided by an outmoded maiial code and is still clinging to some vestige of human dignity and established mores. For the sake of peace and quiet and uni-uffled feelings, let's give in to all the rabblerousers, the hippies, the beatniks, the enlightened generation. Let's rationalize—^it's the thing to do—all the kids are doing it—so why fight it? Why fight it? It should be apparent that somebody will have to start fighting it—and soon. It would seem that some "enlightened" educators and some "enlightened" ministers and priests are lead- ing the pack to "lower" the stand!ards—to lower the standai-ds established by their institutions. They appar- ently want to be "in" with the younger generation and in doing so, they're way "out."
