Pocket chart White and Yellow Index TEACHING TIP: Chaining is a critical activity which reinforces Cards students’ ability to manipulate single phonemes/graphemes within a Thin-Tipped Green word. Chaining exercises should be presented exactly as they are Markers (one per written. student) Unit Length: 34 days Unit 1 contains a total of thirty-four days of instruction. These thirty-four days are divided into twenty- seven days of Foundational Skills, two Targeted Support Stop days, and five days for Placement Assessments.
