Peter Hanning, Tony Runacres, Rates Assessment Officer election Stuart Mottershaw, Graham Witts At a recent Parish Assembly called to elect two members to the Rates Assessment Committee both nominees were seeking a further term of office. Stuart Mottershaw was proposed by Graham Witts, the Chairman of the Committee and seconded by David Hunt. The second candidate, Anthony (Tony) Runacres was proposed by Peter Hanning and seconded by Graham Witts. There were no further nominations and the two candidates were thanked for their past services and for offering themselves for further periods of office. Tony Runacres is featured in this issue of La Cloche as the subject for “Meet the Parishioner.” Rose competition The Jersey Rosarians will be holding a 'Rose and Flower competition' later in the year at Haie Fleurie, St. Martin. Entry forms and details will be available in the garden centres, including at Le Quesne's, Rue de Beauvoir for all keen gardeners. News from the Twinning Committee Although it will be hard to beat the various functions that were laid on last year to celebrate the 30th anniversary of our twinning with Villedieu, we will be active in 2014. First off is a repeat of the well received lunch in Cancale, incorporating a short shopping trip. Cost has yet to be finalised but should be about £65 per person. Again, we will visit the same restaurant, La Mere Champlain. Forms will shortly be sent out to members. St. Saviour's twin school will be visiting on June 4th and 5th. Mourant and he was proposed by Elaine Hanning whose impressive history of Peter’s service to the Parish is repeated here in full.
