QUESTIONS Storm Rothwell of Jersey College for Girls asked a question of Senator Tracey Vallois, Minister for Education regarding the range of issues covered by the PSHE curriculum. James Dunn of De La Salle asked a question of Senator Ian Gorst, Minister for External Relations regarding the creation of an independent Channel Island state. Lily Dobber of Jersey College for Girls asked a question of Deputy Richard Renouf of St. Ouen, Minister for Health and Community Services regarding the rules governing blood donors in Jersey. Eoghan Spillane of Hautlieu asked a question of Deputy Russell Labey of St. Helier, Chairman of the Privileges and Procedures Committee regarding the reform of the Island’s electoral voting system. Jemima Butler of Hautlieu asked a question of Deputy Susie Pinel of St. Clement, Minister for Treasury and Resources regarding changes to the current tax legislation. Patryk Lalka of Hautlieu asked a question of Deputy Montfort Tadier, Assistant Minister for Economic Development, Tourism, Sport and Culture regarding the promotion of Jèrriais. Jennifer Luiz of Hautlieu asked a question of Deputy Richard Renouf of St. Ouen, the Minister for Health and Community Services regarding the diversity of nursing staff. Rhian Murphy of Beaulieu asked a question of Deputy Kevin Lewis of St. Saviour, Minister for Infrastructure regarding encouraging greater use of public transport. Aimee Hugh of Beaulieu asked a question of Senator Sam Mézec, Minister for Children and Housing regarding introducing a rental cap in Jersey. Ross Laurent of De La Salle asked a question of Senator Tracey Vallois, Minister for Education regarding the alteration of the timings of the school day across the Island. CHANGE IN PRESIDING OFFICER The Bailiff retired from the Assembly during the question asked by Aimee Hugh of Beaulieu of the Minister for Children and Housing and the meeting continued under the Presidency of the Deputy of Grouville, Carolyn Labey, Chairman of the Executive Committee Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, Jersey Branch. QUESTIONS TO THE CHIEF MINISTER Students posed questions without notice for 15 minutes to Senator John Le Fondré, Chief Minister. JERSEY SHOULD INTRODUCE A NEW IMMIGRATION POLICY THE ASSEMBLY, adopting a proposition of Patryk Lalka of Hautlieu, agreed that Jersey should introduce a new immigration policy based on the Australian points system. In accordance with Standing Orders, there being an equality of votes, the proposition was deemed to have been rejected.
