Gopalakrishnan Managing Trustee Dear friends, PSG Institute of Management has been ranked 33rd in the National Institutional Ranking Framework conducted by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. At this juncture, it is indeed worthwhile to introspect the year that has gone by. This report talks about a plethora of activities, awards, events and research initiatives that punctuated the entire year. With such vibrant initiatives, I am sure PSGIM is moving decisively towards its destined goals. As one of the leading management institutions, PSGIM has always set benchmarks, and strived for continuous improvement. A lot of initiatives from academic research to consultancy to industry interaction have seen the institute reach the pinnacle of success and these measures will continue to transform management education and bring laurels to our esteemed institution. Nandagopal Director, PSG Institute of Management Dear Friends I am happy to present the annual report for the year 2017-18. This report will be a great resource in a way that it tracks our activities, in the class and outside the class, which we believe can impart and nurture humanistic values. It is to the glory of the institution that we have some of the best faculty members and best students from this part of the world. At PSG Institute of Management the emphasis has always been to be entrepreneurial and industrious as is our legacy. With this, we give students ample opportunities to excel themselves in the co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. We have also had a lot of achievements in faculty and students and these are now recorded very well in the pages to follow. There are special pages on research and consultancy which is an important part of our academic and industry link initiatives. This annual report will be a good reference to our achievements and a benchmark to the next academic year. I also would like to place on record the excellent work put in by our faculty team and the contribution of our students. At this juncture, we resolve to march forward with zeal and determination, guided by our Mission to empower, innovate, research and nurture. II 05 II Accreditations Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) PSG IM submitted a quality assurance report (QAR) to the ACBSP board during the month of September 2014 answering to the list of conditions and notes as mentioned by the Board. The Baccalaureate/Graduate Degree Board of Commissioners met on November 17-18, 2014, and reviewed the quality assurance report. After review, the board voted with the following points. A complete QAR is to be submitted by September 15, 2015 for removing the existing notes and fulfilling the entire requirement for ACBSP. Based on the QAR submitted by PSGIM, the ACBSP board removed the note on standard 3, note on criterion 5.2 and reduced the condition on standard 4, criterion 4.2 to a note. National Board of Accreditation (NBA) PSGIM's NBA application was processed and a team visited the campus during October 2017. The Institute secured the NBA accreditation till 2019. Rapport 2017 – December 17, 2017 The annual alumni meeting Rapport 2017 was organized on the 17th of December, 2017 by PSG Management Alumni Association and PSG Institute of Management at Hotel Radisson Blu. Mr. V Ramakrishnan, MD Organization Development Pvt Ltd., Singapore was the chief guest and spoke on "Re-Architecting MSMEs for Sustained Value Creation". Mr. Peter Arokiam, Chairman PSGMAA welcomed the gathering. Dr. R Nandagopal, Director PSGIM spoke on the various developments at PSGIM. Mr. Madhan Mohan, Former Chairman PSGMAA introduced the speaker and Dr. V Thilagam, Secretary PSGMAA proposed the vote of thanks. Members of PSGMAA, faculty, staff and students of PSGIM attended the program. II 07 II Alumni News “Friends” which made them nostalgic. The alumni also interacted with the present students and shared their experiences. 10th Year Reunion – August 12 2017 The Class of 2007 celebrated their 10th reunion on 12th Aug 2017 at PSG Institute of Management. Around 40 alumni took part in it. Dr. Nandagopal presided the function and Dr. V. Thilagam, Secretary, PSG MAA gave a warm welcome to the alumni. The Alumni honored the faculty with mementos. Students of PSG IM conducted a game show for the alumni. Alumni Meet Chennai Chapter – September 16 2017 PSG MAA Chennai Chapter Alumni Meet was held at Hotel Brainstorming Session – April 12 2017 Woodlands Chennai on 16th Sept 2017 at 6.00pm. Around th 37 alumni from Chennai Chapter took part in it. Dr. PSG IM ranked 26 in the National Institutional Ranking Nandagopal Director presided the function and Mr. Peter Framework, Ministry of human Resource Development, Arokiam, Chairman, PSG MAA welcomed the gathering.
