Although the Historical Racing machines have been in op- eration at the “new” Red Mile since last Saturday, Thursday morning was the big ribbon-cutting ceremony that heralded the introduction of the machines that are pari-mutuel, based on races conducted many years ago. Although the ribbon-cutting for the casino—geez, I’m never going to get the hang of calling it a “gaming parlor” as Red Mile mutuel director Julie Sorrell keeps stressing to me—was scheduled for 10 a.m., Boss Kathy and I met at The Red Mile at 8:45 so we could walk the backstretch. When I arrived, Kathy was on the apron watching horses work out, where she was visiting with Red Mile and Brittany Farm owner George Segal, Myron Bell, Art and Leah Zubrod of Brittany, and horseman Trevor Ritchie. Yes, Trevor has been in town looking at yearlings, although he told me he was ready to head to the airport to head back home to Canada. We watched as Tony Alagna took Little Brown Jug hopeful Revenge Shark around the track, and then Boss Kathy and I headed over to see Tony, whose barns are now up at the front of the barn area. I remarked to Kathy that because the barns now have a white fence surrounding it in close quar- ters, to me, the area has an “under the dome” feel to it. Howie told me Dude’s The Man trained great early this Tony had already gone back on the track with another morning and then noted to me how I was going to miss horse, so we walked over to Barn 30, the home of another seeing the colt win next week’s Little Brown Jug since I’m Jug contender—Dude’s The Man. not going because of sinus surgery next Tuesday. The Horsemens Unicorn Foundation (HUF) Annual Charity Golf Tournament for 2015

It is time again for THE HORSEMENS UNICORN FOUNDATION annual Charity Golf Tournament, Dinner / Dance.

This years Golf Venue will be at:

The Marriots Griffin Gate Golf Course, 1800 Newtown Pike, Lex., KY on TUESDAY, September 29, 2015, with a 1 pm SHOTGUN START.

The Dinner/Dance/Silent Auction will be held at the Red Mile Clubhouse starting at 6:30pm.

Each fall in Lexington, KY the best horses and horsemen gather for two weeks of harness racing and yearling sales. We have found this to be an ideal time to have the HUFs annual Charity Golf Tournament. We offer a great golf venue, dinner, dance, and silent auction. All in conjunction with two weeks of the most exciting harness racing and yearling sales in the world.

All officers of the non-profit HUF provide their hard work and expertise at no expense to the HUF. All efforts are directed towards one goal - helping our fellow horsemen in need. Many times, due to no fault of their own, horsemen have suffered hardships well beyond their financial ability. The HUF has been established to offer financial support to our fellow horsemen during these most difficult times.

Once again we are counting on your generosity along with our fellow horsemen to give whatever they can to help make this a most successful fund raising event.

There are many ways in which you can help. You may wish to make a financial donation or donate a Stallion Breeding, a Yearling, a Yearling Credit, or Services, etc. We hope you find it in your heart to find a way to be a part of this charitable event. All donations are tax deductible and are GREATLY appreciated.

Thanking you in advance for your generosity,

The Horsemens Unicorn Foundation Ute Nolan Mike Freibert
