4 the tennis center at college park 1 :: Maryland tennis has a stylish place to call home: The Tennis Center at College Park. Located on Paint Branch Parkway, this state-of-the-art facility has a total of 27 tennis courts - 12 indoor and 15 outdoor courts. The indoor courts are split into eight Decoturf II hard courts and four Har-Tru Clay courts. The outdoor courts consist of nine Decoturf II hard courts, four Har-Tru Clay courts and two red clay courts.

2 :: The clubhouse lobby includes a pro shop as well as a lounge area for athletes. The back door of the clubhouse leads to 15 outdoor courts.

2008 Maryland men's TENNIS Head CoaCh jim laitta 18th season at Maryland • Eastern Kentucky '88 Jim Laitta is in his 18th season as head coach of the Maryland Laitta also coached two of his players through two other prestigious tournaments, the National men’s tennis program. He spent the first 11 years of his tenure as Invitational Tournament and the National Clay Court Championships. Also returning is junior co-captain Andrew Orban, who won his flight at the UNC Fall Invitational during the fall 2007 season and advanced to the round of 16 at the ITA Mideast Region Championships while paired at doubles with Fetbroyt. “I expect a lot of good things from our captains, Andrew [Orban] and [returning junior] Nickolai [Nielsen],” Laitta said. “Andrew had a great fall, and this should be his best season since he came to Maryland. And Nickolai provides good, strong leadership.” Also returning is David Kwon, a highly recruited player who finished last season with an impressive 11 singles and eight doubles wins as a true freshman, and senior Michael Coleman , a three-year letterwinner.

men's tennis Supervisor kathy worthington Senior Associate Athletics Director Kathy Worthington was named associate athletics director for internal operations in May 1999, and promoted to executive senior associate athletics director in September 2002. She came to Maryland from Morehead State University, where she had served as associate athletics director since February 1998 after spending two years as an assistant athletics director. At Maryland, Worthington is responsible for supervision of the department's student-athlete support services, including sports medicine, academic support, compliance, media relations and strength and conditioning. During her time at Morehead State, her primary focus was business operations, policy development, and strategic planning. Prior to Morehead State, Worthington spent two years as the assistant to the AD at the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse. She earned her bachelor's degree in mass communications from the College of Notre Dame in Maryland in 1985. She earned a master's degree in public relations from Syracuse and a master's in athletics administration from Wisconsin-LaCrosse. In April of 2004, Worthington was appointed a member of the NCAA Division I Academics, Eligibility and Compliance Cabinet. She was inducted into College of Notre Dame's Athletic Hall of Fame in 1997 and in 1999 was named an NCAA Leadership Fellow. In 1996, she earned the Graduate Student Achievement Award from University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse.
