In less positive news, it is concerning that Waltham Forest conservation officers recently suggested at a recorded meeting they have not been consulted on the plans. The council’s financial figures are also coming under scrutiny as they advise it would cost £5.6 million to refurbish the current Chingford Hall and Library but just £3.1 million to build and fit out an entirely new facility (£2.5 million cheaper). It looks like this would be the case as the size of the Assembly Hall would be reduced to the size of its current foyer! North Chingford needs your support.
