FSG Awarded $2.1 M WA Government Funding Field Solutions Holdings Limited (ASX: FSG) ASX Limited Company Announcements Office 3 February 2021 FSG Awarded $2.1M WA Government Funding Field Solutions Holdings (ASX: FSG), Australia's leading rural, regional and remote telecommunications carrier, is pleased to announce that it has been awarded funding by the Western Australia Government's Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development under Round 3 of the Digital Farm Grants Program. Highlights • Build, own, operate telecommunications infrastructure contract • $2.1M in capital funding • Projected revenues of $27M over 10 Years • Delivers FSG’s, Regional Australia Network in WA • Extends FSG’s network by 8,000km2, reaching over 3,000 'underserved' businesses and properties In late 2020, FSG made a strategic decision to enter the WA Market as it presents a natural extension to our Australia Regional Network. “The awarding of the Digital Farm Grant has reinforced our decision to deliver services in WA”, says Andrew Roberts, CEO FSG. “The WA market is well suited to our fixed wireless infrastructure approach to serve rural, regional and remote communities and business”, outlined Roberts. FSG’s Rural Australia Network is the largest non-NBN fixed wireless network in Australia. “We are currently expanding our network across southern and central Queensland. Once complete, our total surface area covered will be over 81,000km2. This project in Western Australia will extend our network adding 8,000km2 to our coverage.”, outlines Roberts. FSG will be supplying services across the following shires in WA: • Shire of Dumbleyung • Shire of Kent • Shire of Lake Grace • Shire of Goomalling • Shire of Cunderdin The Digital Farm Grants Program provides funding for last-mile solutions for agribusinesses in agricultural and pastoral regions that lie outside the current or planned NBN fixed wireless and fixed line footprint. This project will see the construction of network assets servicing areas of the Western Australian Grainbelt and reaching over 3,000 properties and businesses which currently have little or no internet access. FSG will be delivering residential, business, government and enterprise products into the Western Australian market. “Our immediate focus is on the successful delivery of these new networks, however, concurrently we will be offering our complete suite of products, taking advantage of our nationwide network,” says Roberts. Last week, FSG announced a 6-year, nationwide supply agreement with MyRepublic, enabling FSG to deliver services across Australia. “With a network in place across Australia, we can quickly deploy new networks in an extremely economical way", outlines Roberts. On the completing of funding agreements, FSG expects to begin the project in May 2021. Revenue will commence in H1 FY22. This announcement has been authorised for release by the Board of FSG. FSG is a licensed Australian telecommunications carrier, providing services via its own telecommunications network (trading under the brands' JustISP' and "Ant Communications) and a NBNco Retail Service Provider.     Proposed class exemption under section 7 of the Water Services Act 2012 : Small local government water services providers Information and issues for consultation The Department of Water is proposing to introduce a class exemption under the Water Services Act 2012 for small local governments who provide sewerage services and/or non-potable water services to fewer than 1000 connections. This consultation is to inform the public interest assessment of such an exemption. The exemption, if introduced, would be for an initial period of five years and reviewed at the end of that period. What is an exemption? In Western Australia, water services are regulated under the Water Services Act 2012 (the Act). A water service includes the provision of a sewerage service (collection, treatment and disposal), water supply, drainage service or irrigation servicer to another party via reticulated conduits and associated works. Under section 5 of the Act, anyone providing a water service is required to be licensed or exempted from licensing. Section 7 of the Act allows the Minister (currently the Minister for Water) to grant a licensing exemption, provided that the exemption is not considered to be contrary to the public interest. The Department of Water undertakes a public interest assessment on each exemption application. The assessment considers a range of criteria, including public health, environmental impacts and social welfare. Exemptions may be granted on a case-by-case basis or for a class of water service providers. A list of current licence exemptions can be viewed on the Department of Water’s website: http://www.water.wa.gov.au/urban-water/water-services/water-service-licensing-and- licence-exemptions What services are proposed for this class exemption? The proposed exemption would be limited to local government authorities who provide sewerage and/or non-potable water services to fewer than 1000 connected properties.
