Man’s Search for Faith Dr. Jordan F. Detzer (Th.M. ‘51, Th.D. ‘53), head of the department of philosophy and religion at Dakota Wesleyan University, has pub lished a new book, Man’s Search for Faith. Earl ier Dr. Detzer published a two-volume work, Similarities in World Religion. The goal of the new book is “to present clues for a meaningful search for faith and to describe why man searches; the goals of his quest; the disappointments he finds in this search; the happiness he experiences as he at tains his goals and a better understanding of himself.” The book was originally designed as a text for college courses in modern and contemporary Christianity, but has a much wider use. Clues to such wider use are found in the book’s subtitle, “Insights into the Principles and Varieties of Major Philosophy and Religious Expressions in the World.” The appendices are among the more fascina ting parts of the book.
