This piece of paradise has been two million years in the making, and here you will find one of the world’s premier resorts nestling in the shade of forest giants as old as the land. You will find no other resorts – just secluded bays curled around pristine beaches, evening skies woven with colour, and a deep sense of serenity reserved exclusively for our guests. A combination of luxury, natural beauty and age-old wilderness woven together to produce an environment where peace and magically memorable moments are the currency. Of the island’s 300 acres, only a fraction has been developed to house the Resort and its eight Estates. Wooden buildings blend seamlessly into the forest as if nature had been the architect dictating how walls curve around foliage, and roofs open up to allow trees to continue on their journey to the sky. Nature is respected here, almost revered, and it rewards visitors in ways that simply need to be experienced. It is located one and a half kilometers (one nautical mile) to the south-east of the main Destination island of Pangkor, off the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia. It is truly a tropical isle with rocky outcrops and white sandy beaches fringed by the rain forest whose luxuriance is supported by the copious rainfall and warm tropical sun. A British Colonel, Freddy Spencer Chapman DSO, was one of the first Europeans to make Pangkor Laut his destination for thirty-six hours in May 1945. After spending three and a half years in hiding from the Japanese in the jungles of Malaya, Spencer Chapman made his way to Pangkor Laut’s Emerald Bay to escape by submarine. Despite the short visit, the beauty and tranquility of the resort left a great impression on Spencer Chapman and his time on the island is detailed in his book “The Jungle is Neutral.” Location Map PERLIS THAILAND Kangar Kota Bahru LANGKAWI Alor Setar KEDAH Machang Georgetown Penang to Marina Island Pangkor PENANG ( 2 hrs 40 mins ) Kuala Terengganu Penang PERAK International KELANTAN Airport TERENGGANU Sultan Azlan Sultan Azlan Shah Airport Shah Airport to Marina Island Pangkor ( 1 hr 30 mins ) Dungun Ipoh Cameron Highlands Marina Island Pangkor to CHR Marina Island Pangkor Resort (CHR) ( 2 hrs 30 mins ) Pangkor Island Skypark Subang Terminal to Marina Island Pangkor Marina Island ( 3 hrs 15 mins ) Pangkor Pangkor Laut PAHANG Resort (PLR) to PLR KL city to ( 15 mins ) Marina Island Pangkor ( 3 hrs 30 mins ) Kuantan SELANGOR KLIA to Marina Island Pangkor ( 4 hrs ) Kuala Lumpur city Skypark Subang Kuala Lumpur city to Tioman Terminal Skypark Subang Terminal ( 30 mins ) KLIA Boat Route Air Route KLIA to Subang Car Route ( 45 mins ) Boat JOHOR Airport Car Singapore to Sultan Azlan Shah Airport Time estimates are based on ( 1 hr 20 mins ) ordinary traffic and weather conditions.
