OLD WOODWARD SHAVE CO. Letter From The Editor • CLASSIC BARBER SHOP SHAVES & PRODUCTS • Mention this ad to receive our discount price on your next haircut. LES MISERABLES | The Miserable Ones Funny, I don’t feel miserable. At least I don’t think so. But, after years of everyone telling Detroiters that we are, maybe it’s time for me to begin - but where? Sure, I could use a few more bucks, but I am blessed with a wonderful wife, family, and some very good friends. I see exciting and new endeavors going on all around me. I visit art museums in the city, and chat up neighborhood folks in the markets. I hit my favourite breakfast spots, and take my coffee in interesting coffee houses. I meet friends for drinks in numerous Metropolitan locations, and dine out from time to time. I have a small crew that I work out with at the gym. I watch movies, read, catch live music, maybe a game or two, and travel a little. 164 S. Old Woodward Birmingham MI 48009 I laugh a lot (but never enough). 248.644.6400 Still, I can see the point Forbes is making. Detroit’s been hit hard, we have suffered www.oldwoodwardshaveco.com from a poor economy, and decades of just plain horrible leadership on the city level. Our population and housing is down, crime is up, schools and parks are closing and, perhaps, if we are honest with ourselves, as a community we’ve yet to come together well enough to fix our problems.
