O8 Norfolk State* 1 p.m. Woods, 57, was named the 30th head football coach in the Institute's 118-year history on O15 at North Carolina A&T 1:30 p.m. February 12, 2008. Woods also served as running backs coach at Alabama from 2003-06 and served a one-year stint under Pete Carroll on the staff of the NFL's New York Jets in 1994. Kermit Blount (Winston-Salem State ‘80) was hired as the new head coach of the Delaware State Hornets on Feb. 4, 2011.
