Gastronomic legacy

Early in the 1980s, restaurateur Rogério Fasano pointed his life to a new direction when his father, Fabrizio, asked him to return to Brazil and manage the family business, originally from Italy. At the time, Rogério had other dreams in mind and was studying cinema in London. Coming back to Brazil was the turning point for him to discover a natural talent for restaurants and for returning the family name to gastronomic scene. Accredited as one of the few true restaurateurs, Rogério was responsible for the inception of 15 restaurants, some of which are among the most rewarded in the country, and synonyms of impeccable quality and service.

Specially for the opening of new Hotel Fasano Angra dos Reis, Rogério Fasano conceived new brand Crudos, which in turn has synergy with the sunny and tropical climate of Angra dos Reis. At the new CRUDO, open for evening meals, the house chef presents a menu aimed at sophisticated elaborations and presentations, such as scallops, shrimps, crayfish and varied fish. Furthermore,

guests will be able to experience a unique restaurant on the beach, dedicated to salads, sandwiches, light pasta and a variety of seafood.

Architecture

Renowned architecture studio Bernardes + Jacobsen Arquitetura was founder, Thiago Bernardes, is known for projects that engage with nature, the true force behind FRAD.E. In this sense, the impact of the architecture was planned carefully. Every building of the project, between Hotel Fasano and the Residential Villas were measured to become a discreet counterweight to the exuberant local nature. All projects utilize plenty of wood, a constant material in the Villas condominium. The interior design chosen for the Fasano was elected from a thorough research over colors, textures and furnishings aiming to take sophistication and a laid-back style to a contemporary hotel set on the beach. The color palette was hues of blues and greens. This research guides the dyeing and painting of the fabric brought in exclusively for the hotel up to the selection of the furniture signed by Brazilian designers that make up the interiors with objects such as lamps and wickerwork handpicked among regional artisan production.

Islands

Angra dos Reis has a total of 365 islands. All of them can be explored via boat. It is no surprise that 1/3 of all Brazilian pleasure boats are found in Angra dos Reis. One of the main postcards of this archipelago are the Botina Islands, privileged with beautifully translucent turquoise waters, through which the white- sand seabed is spotted. Many bathers enjoy the boat trip to dive into the sea and be mesmerized by a unique experience of swimming among gigantic multicolored shoals that live together peacefully and fascinate the divers.

Sustainability

The new FRAD.E holds great concern development, and so proposes a harmonious coexistence between man and nature. Thanks to a socioenvironmental project established for the construction of a local nursery with seeds from the remaining Atlantic Forest and the formation of an environmental brigade, there are 30 thousand square meters of reforested vegetation, which restores reef flora, and the reforestation of a 250- thousand-meter area of the Atlantic Forest.

Furthermore, there are plans of building ecological footbridges, lakes that recreate ecosystems, rainwater collection, water recycling, adequate residue separation and disposal recycled for the construction of a new Cultural/Capacitation Center for the Frade community, eco-efficient lighting systems and the usage of renewable energy, among others.
