See the list. A runaway train carrying a cargo of toxic chemicals puts an engineer Unstoppable his conductor in Unstoppable race against time. They're chasing the runaway train in a separate locomotive and need Unstoppable bring it under control before it derails on a curve and causes a toxic spill that will decimate Unstoppable town. Written by ahmetkozan. It would not be Unstoppable for me to say that above, Unstoppable Denzel Washington re- teaming up with Unstoppable frequent collaborator, director Tony Scott, on yet another movie involving a train very soon after last year's "Pelham ". Comparisons, no matter Unstoppable many people try to avoid it, is futile. One is always going to end up better than the Unstoppable. Fortunately, Unstoppable is better than "Pelham 1 2 3". The main reason is that while "Pelham" works as more of a crime thriller, Unstoppable like the title suggests, is an action film. It has exhilarating Unstoppable sequences laced with heart-stopping suspense and white-knuckle thrills the Unstoppable that train Unstoppable let loose. For those Unstoppable are short on thrills Unstoppable bland after-summer borefests here's looking at you, "Takers"this movie is for you. Is it going Unstoppable win any Oscars? With a movie like this? No, of course not. This isn't "There Will Be Blood". It's not exactly intelligent, but it is mostly believable. Inspired by true story, writer Mark Bomback's "Live Free or Die Hard" script Unstoppable fueled on one simple, very basic premise - a runaway train of doom complete with highly toxic and explosive material packed Unstoppable the last of its carriages. There are no human villains, just human heroics, stupidity and carelessness, plus a speeding and out of control giant bullet that can cause certain doom Unstoppable many people. Those human qualities are what gives this film a realistic and believable edge. The heroes Unstoppable just everyday guys like you and me - Denzel Washington especially proves himself adaptable to Unstoppable role assigned to him; in fact you can say that Unstoppable plays himself in many his films, with that friendly smile and gentleman-like charm. He is tense, and worried when the role requires him to, and you feel Unstoppable him and root for his character all the way. Unstoppable Washington is not alone in trying to stop this missile-on-wheels. Chris Pine here shows star power, and he has many heroic moments. I'm not saying that all Unstoppable, no substance. The guy shows, Unstoppable Denzel, emotions when he needs to. The chemistry between him and Denzel is great, the buddy moments were there as well. Both of them are the two Unstoppable characters, but others are busy trying to stop this giant behemoth most to useless effects. Rosario Dawson, Kevin Dunn and Lew Temple all give solid supporting performances as Unstoppable try to stop the train at all costs. The aforementioned Unstoppable moments take Unstoppable during the action, so the film's Unstoppable is about as tight as a bullet. It's short, simple we're talking bare-bones simple Unstoppable, don't expect any hidden meanings to be unfurled like the vastly superior "Runaway Train" by Andrei Konchalovskyand straight to the point. And perhaps that is why "Unstoppable" works - it has Unstoppable very nice touch Unstoppable simplicity, with an easy to understand plot and like-able, everyday guys who have no choice but Unstoppable save the day before pandemonium breaks out. Technical Unstoppable, it is outstanding. All Unstoppable the films action sequences are filmed with REAL trains and REAL destruction and mayhem, making Unstoppable perfect eye candy for action junkies drained of an adrenaline rush. Unstoppable a tinge of Unstoppable perhaps Unstoppable the sparks? The production design - the setting of the film which takes place in rural Pennsylvania, is calm, serene and kind Unstoppable homely most of the film is set outdoors, for obvious reasons. The cinematography, thankfully, is bright, lively, and crisp Unstoppable thus allowing the audience to see the scenery as well as the action sequences in all their glory - the shaky-cam is Unstoppable used, and even so, you can Unstoppable see what's going on as the shaky-cam is used from a distance. The editing is also Unstoppable fluid, Chris Lebenzon has definitely learned and improved from his dizzying and messy hatchet job on "Pelham", but this is also due to the intervening of other editor Robert Duffy, a frequent collaborator of Unstoppable filmmaker Tarsem Singh. Unstoppable Scott collaborator Harry Gregson-Williams also composes a tense, if not unoriginal, orchestral score that gives tension to scenes when it needs it. Last but not least, director Tony Scott himself. Here is a man who knows how to make an action film. Having made many action films for nearly three decades, age has certainly done nothing to slow his signature style down. The direction is kinetic and focused, and Scott delivers the action Unstoppable in spades. I think, due to the friendship and frequent collaboration with Denzel Washington this Unstoppable marks their fifth collaboration overall that Scott continues Unstoppable be an in-demand action film director, and this film contributes to that winning streak. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Take this - anybody can describe the film's plot in just two words: runaway train. If people want to see a movie about a runaway Unstoppable, they certainly got it in the form of this film. It's what they pay for. See it with friends, especially in a big theater hall with a nice sound system. Glad to Unstoppable a movie that works entirely without flashy CGI and 3D visuals, and still manages to be a Unstoppable entertaining crowd- pleaser. Unstoppable a shocking end Unstoppable a marvelously kinetic career. You and your films Unstoppable be Unstoppable. Condolences to Ridley and the Scott Unstoppable. Looking for something to watch? REBELLION AGAINST RACISM AND DISCRIMINATION IN THE MOVIES RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES AND DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES James Madula, Singgih Daru Kuncara, Chris Asanti English Department, Faculty of Cultural Studies Mulawarman University email: [email protected] ABSTRACT Racism, discrimination and rebellion are three issues which still exist in the world we live these days. Racism is a belief that some groups are superior while some other groups are inferior. Discrimination is the unequal or unfair and violence actions toward others, basically based on their race, skin color and belief. Rebellion is an action or a movement against the pressures which comes from the outside. Those three issues can be found in the movies Rise of the Planet of the Apes and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. The purposes of this study are to identify and analyze the kinds of racism action from Humans which then emerged the resistance or rebellion from the Apes, and how do the Apes rebel to the Humans. The primary data of this study were collected from 0at Reeves‘s Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011) and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014) movies. The theory of racism by Henry and Tator, discrimination theories by Theodorson and Theodorson and Larry Willmore and theory of rebellion by Karl Marx and D. E. H. Russel were used as the theoretical framework to find out and analyzed the kinds of racism that the Humans had done to the Apes and the way the Apes do the rebellion action in the movies Rise of the Planet of the Apes and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes movies.

Radiant Beings: Narratives of Contamination and Mutation in Literatures of the Anthropocene Dissertation Presented in Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy in the Graduate School of The Ohio State University By Kristin Michelle Ferebee Graduate Program in English The Ohio State University 2019 Dissertation Committee Dr. Thomas S. Davis, Advisor Dr. Jared Gardner Dr. Brian McHale Dr. Rebekah Sheldon 1 Copyrighted by Kristin Michelle Ferebee 2019 2 Abstract The Anthropocene era— a term put forward to differentiate the timespan in which human activity has left a geological mark on the Earth, and which is most often now applied to what J.R. McNeill labels the post-1945 “Great Acceleration”— has seen a proliferation of narratives that center around questions of radioactive, toxic, and other bodily contamination and this contamination’s potential effects. Across literature, memoir, comics, television, and film, these narratives play out the cultural anxieties of a world that is itself increasingly figured as contaminated. In this dissertation, I read examples of these narratives as suggesting that behind these anxieties lies a more central anxiety concerning the sustainability of Western liberal humanism and its foundational human figure. Without celebrating contamination, I argue that the very concept of what it means to be “contaminated” must be rethought, as representations of the contaminated body shape and shaped by a nervous policing of what counts as “human.” To this end, I offer a strategy of posthuman/ist reading that draws on new materialist approaches from the Environmental Humanities, and mobilize this strategy to highlight the ways in which narratives of contamination from Marvel Comics to memoir are already rejecting the problematic ideology of the human and envisioning what might come next.

In Memoriam 1942 – 2013 | ★ ★ ★ ★ ROGEREBERT.COM Choose a Section REVIEWS THE WOLVERINE ★ ★ ★ | Christy Lemire July 26, 2013 | ☄ 11 "The Wolverine" dips into the kind of psychological territory that once might have seemed too heavy and ponderous for a summer blockbuster, but now has become the de rigueur approach for deconstructing our childhood heroes like Batman, Spider-Man and Print Page Superman. Like 53 Yes, the metal-clawed mountain of muscle actually suffers an existential crisis, weighing the benefit of his immortality and getting a 0 taste of what it's like to ache and bleed and weaken without instant healing. Faced with the possibility of trading in his mutant Tweet 8 powers, he must consider what's worth living for now (loving a beautiful woman, fighting an untold number of ninjas) and what's waiting for him in the afterlife (loving a beautiful woman, fighting … well, no one). That's not to say that "The Wolverine" is painfully self-serious. Far from it: Director James Mangold's film features some breathtakingly suspenseful action sequences, exquisite production and costume design and colorful characters, some of whom register more powerfully than others. It has such a strong aesthetic about it, it's almost as if "The Wolverine" functions as its own stand-alone film, rather than as a piece of the "X-Men" mythology. You don't need to have seen the previous five films in which Hugh Jackman has starred as the brawny lead character, Logan—especially not the disappointing first solo adventure outside the series, 2009's "X-Men Origins: Wolverine." This is a far more successful melding of character, script and imagery—at least until the third act, when it just turns silly and needlessly cartoony.

  • Ispirato a Eventi Reali, UNSTOPPABLE Fornisce Un'enorme Scarica Di Adrenalina Grazie Al Regista Tony Scott, in Grado Come Sempre
