THE ST BOTOLPH BUILDING LONDON EC3A NEWSLETTER Issue 10 Please do not remove this publication from the St Botolph Building Letter from the editors Welcome to the 10th edition of The St Botolph Building Newsletter. “And all at once, summer collapsed into fall.” Oscar Wilde Talk about a long hot summer, we finally were given the Great British Summer we all deserved, which in turn gave us an opportunity to spend more time with our loved ones and gave our social lives that much needed Vitamin D boost with outdoor activities such as trips to the seaside and a chance to ‘break out’ those BBQ’s which hopefully gave you a chance to relax, shake off the stress and soak up the sun, whilst watching the England football team exceed our expectations at the World Cup. If Football isn’t your cup of tea, you may have enjoyed the pomp & circumstance of the Royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The end of the summer holidays usually brings us back down to earth with a bumpandthis newsletter is here to help ease you back on track with your health and fitness routines as well as bringing you up to speed with updates regarding the building. During the summer, we continued with our free strawberries during Wimbledon, Babelle & Arapina joined us in the main reception with their delicious treats. On page 10 -11 we invite you to read more about our award winning teams in the M&E and cleaning industry. If you want a fresh start with your fitness regime and try new keep fit routines, then page 13- 14 offers several great fitness clubs located within the City area. You can complement these workouts with a sports massage or a cryotherapy session that doesn’t empty your wallet/purse. We have also managed to get some great deals with the best spas in town! Let’s put away those blankets and picnic baskets in the park and back to brunches in some of the best restaurants London has to offer. On 12th of July Babelle joined our celebration with their delicious caneles, this time with a strawberry twist! Big congratulations to Novak Djokovic! Summer pop-up events This summer we had a lot to celebrate – we finally had the weather we were hoping for! For two days in the end of July we welcomed Arapina who was eager to show us how vegan, gluten, butter, dairy and wheat free treats can taste delicious! We hope you enjoyed trying their specialties because they will be joining us again in October. We cannot wait! We said goodbye to this long and amazing summer in (healthy) style! Ms. Cupcakes brought their incredible cupcakes for everyone to try and they didn’t disappoint us – their vegan goodies tasted just like any other. I have been working for Portico and in The St Botolph Building for 9 months now. What are your duties and responsibilities in your job role? As a receptionist, my job is to make sure all visitors feel welcome, direct them and issue visitor passes to them, work together with Security in keeping our Building safe. Alongside Building Management and other colleagues, I participate in organising pop-up events. Tell us more about yourself. I am originally from Serbia, living in London for one year and a half now. I studied languages at the University of Belgrade in Serbia and just after graduation I decided to move to the UK, which had been a dream for a long time. What about hobbies? I enjoy cycling, exploring London and travelling. Where are you planning to go for holidays this year?
