“And all at once, summer collapsed into fall.” Oscar Wilde

Talk about a long hot summer, we finally were given the Great British Summer we all deserved, which in turn gave us an opportunity to spend more time with our loved ones and gave our social lives that much needed Vitamin D boost with outdoor activities such as trips to the seaside and a chance to ‘break out’ those BBQ’s which hopefully gave you a chance to relax, shake off the stress and soak up the sun, whilst watching the England football team exceed our expectations at the World Cup. If Football isn’t your cup of tea, you may have enjoyed the pomp & circumstance of the Royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

The end of the summer holidays usually brings us back down to earth with a bumpandthis newsletter is here to help ease you back on track with your health and fitness routines as well as bringing you up to speed with updates regarding the building. During the summer, we continued with our free strawberries during Wimbledon, Babelle & Arapina joined us in the main reception with their delicious treats.

On page 10 -11 we invite you to read more about our award winning teams in the M&E and cleaning industry. If you want a fresh start with your fitness regime and try new keep fit routines, then page 13- 14 offers several great fitness clubs located within the City area. You can complement these workouts with a sports massage or a cryotherapy session that doesn’t empty your wallet/purse. We have also managed to get some great deals with the best spas in town!

Let’s put away those blankets and picnic baskets in the park and back to brunches in some of the best restaurants London has to offer. We have added a few more exciting venues to our ever expanding promotions list. Check out these new additions on page 15 and be spoilt for choice on where to spend your lunch breaks. 3 Summer celebrations

Wimbledon lobby hosting & pop-up event We hope you got the chance to enjoy the surprise that the Building Management has prepared for you this summer – for two weeks during Wimbledon our reception team was in charge of sharing smiles and fresh strawberries with everyone! On 12th of July Babelle joined our celebration with their delicious caneles, this time with a strawberry twist! Big congratulations to Novak Djokovic!

Summer pop-up events This summer we had a lot to celebrate – we finally had the weather we were hoping for! For two days in the end of July we welcomed Arapina who was eager to show us how vegan, gluten, butter, dairy and wheat free treats can taste delicious! We hope you enjoyed trying their specialties because they will be joining us again in October. We cannot wait!

We said goodbye to this long and amazing summer in (healthy) style! Ms. Cupcakes brought their incredible cupcakes for everyone to try and they didn’t disappoint us – their vegan goodies tasted just like any other. We look forward to welcoming London’s first entirely vegan bakery again soon.

#Plasticfreecity Plastic Free City is the Corporation’s new initiative to help businesses, workers and residents across the Square Mile reduce their reliance on unnecessary single-use plastics.

12 HEALTH & FITNESS

Health and fitness or overall wellbeing has become a part of our daily lifestyles and if it hasn’t it should become. Being physically active can bring a lot of benefits in terms of health, energy, brainpower, melts away stress, boots immunity, helps with social life too, cardiovascular system and you can eat more too! Below you will find the summer 2018 trends in terms of gym workouts & classes and body treatments, curated by companies partnered with us to offer you the best deals & bodies for life!

Cryotherapy Cryotherapy is a fast and healthy process that accelerates the body’s natural recovery while improving overall well‐being and energising the body. Cryotherapy is a completely dry, non‐invasive, hyper‐cooling process that lowers a person’s skin temperature to 5ºC during a session of up to 180 seconds. Whilst inside the CryoCabin™, the body is enveloped by mist pulsating at a temperature of ‐140ºC. Helps with sports recovery, as it triggers the body into ‘’fight or flight mode’’, triggering the release of epinephrine, endorphins and anti‐inflammatory proteins. Followed by a Normatec compression Therapy or a sports massage can do wonders for sports recovery.

Expert Cryolipolysis (fat freezing) Cryolipolysis, fat freezing is an easy and non‐invasive alternative. Specialist hand pieces are placed over the treatment areas whilst you lie on the couch. The unwanted fat is slowly cooled to ‐7°C for 70 minutes which is enough to kill the fat cells but nothing else. The damaged fat cells are cleared over the following weeks in the normal way, through the lymphatic system. Whilst fat freezing is an effective treatment, it’s important to remember that fat lost can always be regained when more calories are consumed than are burnt off!

Expert cellulite treatment Changes in fatty tissue and fibrous bands under the skin cause the dimpling we call cellulite. Focused ultrasound on the Accent Prime system targets the layer of fat just underneath the skin that is cellulite, disrupting the fat and encouraging increased blood flow to soften the appearance. Ultrasound can be combined with radio frequency skin tightening in the same area to further improve the results on cellulite. The special hand piece for the body areas contains a revolving massage attachment to increase the disruption of fat cells, stimulate blood flow and encourage lymphatic drainage. Ultrasound on the Accent Prime doesn’t just treat cellulite but can shape areas of the body that have a little more fat than you’d like! If there is enough fat in a certain area, it may be that fat freezing with Cooltech would be more appropriate. Your area of concern will be assessed during your free consultation and advice given on the most appropriate treatment option.

Deep Tissue Massage 90% of clients choose deep tissue and is particularly appropriate for individuals who suffer from shoulder & neck pain, back pain, repetitive strain injury, posture problems, arthritis, fibromyalgia, muscle tension, stress, headaches, and anxiety.

Sports Massage Whether you are a professional athlete, an amateur sportsperson or simply enthusiastic about fitness, a sports massage from Nico Tailored Therapies is an accessory as fundamental as running shoes to a sprinter or a racket to a tennis player. This treatment is used for both injury prevention and recovery.

Lymphatic Drainage Massage Improve or eliminate fatigue and even IBS Symptoms! The lymphatic system is a network of vessels and ducts responsible for channelling unwanted toxins out of the body. Effective in treating migraines, stress, assisting with weight loss, and much more! Yoga & Barre Yoga does more than burn calories and tone muscles. It's a total mind‐body workout that combines strengthening and stretching poses with deep breathing and meditation or relaxation. Yoga is a great activity for you if you have diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or heart disease. It gives you strength, flexibility, and mind‐body awareness.

Barre may look like ballet, but it's not. Barre fitness classes are simply ballet‐inspired, incorporating a ballet barre and maybe some plies and pirouettes here and there into the workout. Essentially, barre classes mix elements of Pilates, dance, yoga and functional training, and the moves are choreographed to motivating music. In each energizing and targeted workout, you’ll use the barre and exercise equipment such as mini‐balls and small hand weights to sculpt, slim and stretch your entire body.
