Julian Lennon Photography Hope 2014 The principal goal behind Julian’s latest series, HORIZON, is to marry photography with philanthropy. “I have always felt that I observed life in a different way than others, probably because my life has always been very different than most,” says Julian. His attuned worldview recently led him to see first-hand, the results of a Charity: Water and The White Feather Foundation initiative, bringing critically needed clean drinking water to parts of Africa. Simultaneous, his conservation and humanitarian efforts overlapped with support work being developed with Millennium Villages Project. During these travels through Kenya and Ethiopia, Julian captured a wide variety of images, with the intention of inspiring viewers to learn about unique indigenous cultures and to help raise awareness of their plights. Its signature image, Horizon, jux- taposes man and nature in a meditative solo walk upon a majestic mountaintop. The beauty of landscape shots like Follow and Scopium find a complement in the humanity of others, among them:Reverence, with Horizon 2014 a group of tribal elders focused intently, during a community gathering, to discuss clean water and their envi- ronment; and Hope, a bright-eyed Ethiopian child, with a wise, yet insightful vision, of life yet to come…. Follow 2014 Reverence 2014 Scopium 2014 Empathy, says Julian Lennon, is the bond that unites the planet. He offers, “We are all in this together, and hopefully someday, the world will realize that… and photography is one way to share, learn, appreciate and understand about other cultures and empathize with other peoples lives….” HORIZON is currently on view at Emmanuel Fremin Gallery NYC, and will spend 2015 traveling to Dubai, Hong Kong, The Hamptons, Istanbul, and Miami. The date, Dec. 8, 1980, was a momentous one in the history of music and the annals of crime. Now, four decades later, Lennon's murder and his life are the subject of much focus. • Beatles on Apple 68-75
1 The Beatles On Apple Vol.15 Playlist May 15th 2016 OPEN/9AM The Beatles - Hey Jude - Non-LP Track (Lennon-McCartney) Lead vocal: Paul 2 The Beatles’ eighteenth single release for EMI, the first on the Apple Records label. Paul McCartney’s masterpiece. The 7 minute, 11 second track was the longest released by the Beatles up until that time, and the song broke wide open the usual two to three minute mold that had long been the standard for pop singles. Paul got the idea for the song while driving to visit Cynthia and Julian Lennon. He wrote the lyrics as a message of encouragement to young Julian while his parents were in the throes of a very public separation. Paul wanted to stay friends, so he planned a visit. Cynthia was still living in John’s Kenwood estate, and since Paul usually wrote songs on the way there to collaborate with his writing partner, he fell into the same routine. Paul: “I started with the idea ‘Hey Jules,’ which was Julian, don’t make it bad, take a sad song and make it better. Hey, try and deal with this terrible thing. I knew it was not going to be easy for him. I always feel sorry for kids in divorce. The Beatles - Revolution - Non-LP Track (Lennon-McCartney) Lead vocal: John The Beatles’ eighteenth single release for EMI, their first on the Apple Records label. John Lennon lobbied hard to get his magnificent rocker on the A-side of the band’s summer 1968 single, but by any standard, Paul’s “Hey Jude” was an unbeatable choice for the A-side.

Cookie Preferences Cookie Julian Lennon has launched his latest photo exhibit in conjunction with Aston Martin Residences DEBORAH ANDERSON “I know how it feels to have your privacy invaded by photographers, whether it is in work mode or privately. So I have always been sensitive to that,” says Julian Lennon, describing the philosophy that has driven his decades-long career in photography. “I’m a fly on the wall. Nothing is staged. I don’t want to be in [the subject’s] way.” Lennon has just launched a virtual exhibit called “Vision” in partnership with Aston Martin Residences, the 391-unit condo building in Miami and first residential project for the luxury carmaker. Now 70% sold, the building made news for its $50 million triplex penthouse, which comes with a hard-to-find Aston Martin Vulcan valued at over $3 million. “It is every young English boy's dream to not only be James Bond, but...Aston Martin...are you kidding me?” says Lennon. “As a kid I used to have the little matchbox Aston Martin. So how can I not be happy for the relationship?” The Edge from U2 works on a song JULIAN LENNON The partnership with Lennon came about after a serendipitous meeting between Lennon and reps for the building at Miami’s annual Art Basel festival.

  • “Hope” Press Release
“Hope” Press Release HOPE: THE TREE OF LIFE: Music producers, musicians, video artist, and the children come together to offer vision, hope, and new life. In collaboration between Syn’s Nick Wood and Grammy-nominated musician Julian Lennon, a group of musicians and music producers have come together to raise money for the ongoing recovery effort after the earthquake and resulting tsunami that hit northern Japan on March 11, 2011. Wood, a longtime resident of Japan, felt a need to contribute to the relief effort and tapped his network to co-produce this piece of music with Grammy Award-winning producer, John Jones. Wood, Lennon, and Japan’s top-selling record producer, Tetsuya Komuro, perform the piece called “Hope.” “Hope” pays homage to one pine tree left standing in Rikuzentakata, a city destroyed by the tsunami. Rikuzentakata was once home to over 70,000 trees, but after the quake, only one was left standing. This tree has symbolized hope, strength, and resilience to the people of Rikuzentakata. “Hope” speaks to, and for, the people who are experiencing grief and coping with destruction in the aftermath of the earthquake and tsunami. It additionally lauds the people who have worked to rebuild and resume life after the disaster. Total damages from the quake and tsunami are estimated to be about US$309 billion. “Hope” by Nick Wood feat. Julian Lennon, Tetsuya Komuro, and BEYOND Tomorrow students will be available worldwide on iTunes and music.jp starting March 7th (Wed). The release is accompanied by a music video produced and edited by Aéro Film under the creative guidance of BAFTA member and Aéro founder and executive producer, Lance O’Connor, as well as award-winning photographer and director, Indrani.
