PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES Society Leadership and Membership Vice President for Programming, Society for Research on Adolescence, 2010-2018 Member, Population Association of America Member, Society for Research on Adolescence Member, Tennessee Public Health Association Consultations Technical Consultant, United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and World Health Organization, 2000-2007 My role as a technical consultant has been to identify and develop indicators for monitoring protective factors in the lives of adolescents. I have developed a compendium of indicators to be used for monitoring progress by 160 UNICEF country offices toward the World Fit for Children goals; consulted on methodology for developing cross-national indicators of parent-adolescent connection and regulation for WHO; coordinated the selection of indicators of contextual factors for inclusion in the second edition of Guide to Monitoring and Evaluation of HIV/AIDS Programmes for Young People; recommended indicators of protective factors to be included in the Global School-based Student Health Survey (currently being used in 84 countries); and consulted on the methodology for a cross-national comparison of risk and protective factors for adolescent health and provided analyses of US and Caribbean data.
