l gruppo vocale Echos, formatosi a Cagliari nel gennaio 2008, è costituito da giovani musicisti pro- venienti da formazioni ed esperienze eterogenee (lirica, musical, pop), accomunati dall’intento di Iesplorare soluzioni interpretative originali e, al contempo, sempre fruibili nell’ambito della musica “a cappella”. Il repertorio eseguito, affianca volutamente diversi generi, dal contemporary (Africa, Isn’tshe- lovely, Bohemianrapsody) alle trascrizioni di brani celebri della tradizione classica (Aria sulla IV corda, Flight of the Bumble-Bee), e del folklore sudamericano (Aquarela do Brasil, O Pato, MuiéRendera), ma anche della canzone italiana d’autore, fino ai piu’ celebri “Christmas carols” di tradizione anglosassone (Deck the halls, Carol of the bells). Alcuni arrangiamenti proposti, inoltre, sono stati appositamente rea- lizzati per questa formazione (Vacanze Romane, Creuza de ma, Brava, Black or White, Something in the water), altri invece sono inediti (Foglia d’argento, Endlessyouth, Le cose che aspetto).

emorable Sardinian fusion-jazz groups get together again to celebrate this event remembering when they performed, 25 years ago, in the first edition of Calagonone Jazz Festival. Very popular Min the 80’s and 90’s, Metrò turn out to be innovative crossing jazz, Arabic music and traditional Sardinian music. There is no nostalgia in this show but a brand new creative step for the group, seeing that since they have split up, they never appeared together in reunions. Metrò will show their original members: Battista Giordano, Tore Mannu, Gavino Riva and Sebastiano Pacifico and new entries Jacopo Tore, a pianist from Nuoro, and a great international saxophonist, Leandro Saint-Hill. The proposal is based on old topics belonging to their successes but enriched with new arrangements that will be able to give us a wonderful show, marked by new energies and a melodic quality which shall take away any risk linked with nostalgia. Indeed, Metrò want to demonstrate that, although time has passed, music remains bright and current.

Band po- Upolarissima negli anni ottanta–novanta, tra le prime ad incrociare il jazz con la musica araba e la tradizione musicale sarda, si ripresenta al Festival per festeggiare con l’Associazione Culturale L’intermezzo il quarto di secolo dall’anno della sua nascita. Nessuna operazione nostalgica, bensì nuova fase creativa per il gruppo, che dalla data del loro scioglimento non ha mai partecipato a reunion o celebrazioni del passato. I Metrò si presentano a questo importante appuntamento del festival, con una formazione che comprende il nucleo storico del gruppo: Battista Giordano, Tore Mannu, Gavino Riva e Sebastiano Pacifico arricchita da due nuovi compagni di lavoro, il pianista nuorese Jacopo Tore e lo straordinario sassofonista di levatura internazionale Leandro Saint-Hill.
