St. Francis of Assisi, pray for us. You may have noticed that The Francis Fund – our Tuition Assistance Fund (listed in the bulletin each week) "starts over" with a new fiscal year beginning July 1st. You should know we helped 16 families with reduced tuition through grants this past school year with your donations of $57,559.50. So, my personal THANKS to all who contribute to this fund which helps families keep their children in our Catholic School. In addition, every child in our school receives a grant from SFA Parish to help offset the actual cost of educating a child. This year the cost to educate one student is $6436 and the tuition we charge is $5356. So the difference comes in a grant from our parishioner’s generosity to the Sunday offertory and The Francis Fund. Of, course this need continues, so please consider making a special gift on Back to School Sunday, August 11. Our goal is to get a gift for every child in our elementary school. There will be a second collection that weekend to support The Francis Fund. Let’s get at least 275 (one per student) gifts that back to school week. Thank you for your continued support of SFA School. Did You Know? Many employers offer matching donations to charitable organizations. The Francis Fund has received three matching donations from employers this year. Ask if your employer will match your donation today! SEVENTEENTH SUNDAY OF ORDINARY TIME 3 Weekly Reflection: “Ask and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” (Luke 11:9) Jesus assures us that if we ask, God will take care of what we need. The problem is that our culture often confuses what we really need with what we simply want. Many people need very little. However, we usually want so much more. A good Spending Time with God in Prayer. steward only asks God for what he needs. Eucharistic Adorers are always needed in the Adoration Chapel. Pease call Judy at 314-346-7009 to share your time with Our Lord. Using Talent to Participate in Building His Kingdom. Sometimes we can easily fall into the trap of negotiating with God. We can be like children negotiating with a parent. That is probably why Fast. Secure. Easy. Jesus felt the need to teach his disciples how to pray in today’s Gospel. In addition, in the Gospel, Jesus stressed to His friends, “And I tell you, ask and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
