    St Peter’s College 12th Annual Sports and Cultural Festival The 12th Annual St Peter’s College Sports and Cultural Festival is happening at the College in Sunninghill from Friday to Sunday, 18 – 20 September 2015. This year, we have 44 schools participating with over 110 teams comprising of about 3,500 high school children, plus spectators. This is the largest schools sports and cultural festival of its kind in South Africa. Our Festival is unique in that we bring children from all walks of life, underprivileged and privileged, together to engage with each other on a ‘level playing field’ to play sport and share cultural interests.     2019 Reef Cup Water Polo Tournament RESULTS_GIRLS COLLEGE SECTION_Final Version_as at 18 February 2019 Reef Cup_GirlsCollege GIRLS' COLLEGE SECTION TOURNAMENT RULES & FIXTURES 2019 Water Polo Page 1 of 4 2019-02-18 02:34 PM 2019 Reef Cup Water Polo Tournament RESULTS_GIRLS COLLEGE SECTION_Final Version_as at 18 February 2019 Girls College RULES 2019 REEF CUP WATER POLO INVITATIONAL TOURNAMENT, Johannesburg 2019 TOURNAMENT RULES: GIRLS' COLLEGE SECTION NB* TOURNAMENT RULES Apply NB* Further or Subsequent Amendments Made to the Tournament Rules and/or any/all other Decisions Taken at any time by the Tournament Director(s) will be FINAL NO Photographic, Video or Other Recording of any nature whatsoever (including the use of GVMS - Game Video Monitoring System), will be considered as evidence in the determination/finalisation/influencing of any decision(s) required, pertaining to the Tournament NB* Only the Following Rule changes approved by the FINA Extraordinary Congress in Hangzhou, China in December 2018 as summarised below, will apply in this year's Tournament: 1 _ The possession time to be reset to 20 seconds after: a) a corner throw awarded; b) a rebound after a shot which does not cause change of possession and c) after an exclusion (if time left was less than 20 seconds) 2 _ Inside the 6-meter area, when a player is swimming with and/or holding the ball and is impeded (attacked) from behind during an attempt to shoot "in front of goal" (must constitute a "probable goal"), a penalty foul must be awarded (unless only the hand/ball is touched by the defender) 3 _ Free throw shall be taken from the location of the ball (except if the foul is committed by a defending player within the defender’s 2-meter area, then the free throw shall be taken on the 2-meter line opposite to where the foul was committed) 4 _ A goal may be scored from a free throw awarded outside 6-meters from a direct shot, or after fake or dribble or putting the ball on the water (i.e.

Thanks to the passionate learner community, dedicated staff compliment and supportive parent body, Curro Aurora is performing exceptionally well and is well on its way to reaching its full potential. I firmly believe that the elements listed below are essential to ensure that we are successful at helping all students achieve academically and helping them to be caring, contributing, productive, and responsible citizens.     Date: 28 February 2020 Issue no.: 7 Dear Parent It takes Earth approximately 365 days, 5 hours, 48 minutes, and 45 seconds, to circle once around the Sun, therefore causing the addition of an intercalary day, called a leap year, every fourth year. This matching up of the seasons to our Gregorian calendar makes us realise that nature does not listen to the laws or conventions of man, but rather that man has made rules to describe what is happening in nature. Tomorrow, 29 February, is such a special day. It is therefore only apt that we use this “bonus day” in our calendar to promote our wonderful school. Please invite family and friends to pop in and visit us at our Open Day. It promises to be an amazing opportunity to showcase our school with our incredible learners and facilities. Needless to say, we are engaging with prospective parents on various levels for this event, but most importantly, our learners will be the true marketing material for Curro Aurora. I therefore ask that you help ensure that they show up dressed neatly for the various activities on offer.     1 2 The FEDA (Festival of Excellence in Dramatic Arts) was initiated eleven years ago with the specific aim of showcasing outstanding Drama Departments of schools in Gauteng. It began with five schools and now has over fifty schools entering every year. The event is run by Janet Baylis and Phillipa Sandilands. FEDA prides itself on encouraging young theatre practitioners to take risks and create cutting edge work and perform on a professional stage. The standard of work presented is quite extraordinary and each year more young writers, directors, and performers showcase their talent. Many FEDA students have moved on to Drama departments at UCT, AFDA and Wits and some are studying in L.A and New York.
