This equates to an average annualised capacity of 64,935 homes a year. -

We conserve and enhance the natural environment for its intrinsic value, iithe wellbeing and enjoyment of people, and the economic prosperity it brings. Parks, People and Nature A guide to enhancing natural habitats in London’s parks and green spaces in a changing climate Introduction My vision for London is of a green city, and a fair city, where everyone has access to a high quality green space in which wildlife can be encountered close to where they live and work. London has some of the Ýnest parks of any capital city in the world. Yet it also has some areas lacking in green space, and many more where the quality of the green spaces could be better. This booklet provides a valuable practical guide on how to improve access to nature in parks and green spaces, complimenting my London Plan Implementation Report on Improving LondonersÔ access to nature. Appropriate design and management of our parks and green spaces will be one of the key challenges that will enable the City to adapt to climate change. Park managers need to be working now to plant the trees that will provide shade for a much warmer city in the 2080s. We also need to start thinking now how our parks can help in addressing broader environmental challenges such as Þood risk management. -

This section gives you guidance on other aspects of your job which will help you keep up your status as a professional. More than just a driver Other road users 44 Other road users There are many more cyclists using London’s roads and you should take special care to ensure you are aware of cyclists at all times. Look out for Barclays Cycle Superhighways across the Capital, and Barclays Cycle Hire users in central and eastern areas. 1. Give all cyclists space as you overtake (about half the width of your bus, or 1.2m) and do not cut in on cyclists as you approach bus stops. 45 More than just a driver Other road users 2. Do not stop in the Advanced Stop Box. It must be left clear for cyclists. 3. Remember to watch out for motorcyclists, who can now use certain bus lanes. 4. Watch out for pedestrians and keep your speed low. Use dipped headlights, especially in contra-flow bus lanes and central areas, such as Oxford Street or Piccadilly. Your company may ask you to use dipped headlights at all times. 5. At road junctions, be aware of other large vehicles such as lorries. Like buses, they need a wide area to turn. 6. Remember, taxis can use bus lanes so be prepared to stop if they are picking up or setting down passengers. -

Traffic noise maps of public parks in Lewisham May 2018 This document shows traffic noise maps for parks in the borough. The noise maps are taken from http://www.extrium.co.uk/noiseviewer.html. Occasionally, google earth or google map images are included to help the reader identify where the park is located. Similar documents are available for all London Boroughs. These were created as part of research into the impact of traffic noise in London’s parks. They should be read in conjunction with the main report and data analysis which are available at http://www.cprelondon.org.uk/resources/item/2390-noiseinparks. The key to the traffic noise maps is shown here to the right. Orange denotes noise of 55 decibels (dB). Louder noises are denoted by reds and blues with dark blue showing the loudest. UPDATE MAY 12, 2021 1 SUMMARY Between 2018 and the end of 2021, the London Cricket Trust will have overseen the installation of 61 non-turf pitches and 13 net facilities across the capital. In Phases 1 and 2, in 2018 and 2019, 36 non-turf pitches and four net facilities were created and 66 cricket starter-kits were donated to primary and high schools. In Phase 3, in 2020, running into 2021, and Phase 4, in 2021, a further 25 NTP’s and nine net facilities will be completed and available for use. In this process, LCT has emerged as a lean, focused organisation through which the four county boards - Essex, Kent, Middlesex and Surrey - work eficiently and effectively not only together but also in conjunction with the ECB, measurably increasing cricket participation in the capital. Advantage Sports Management (ASM) is responsible for the day-to-day management of the LCT, reporting to the four trustees, identifying potential sites and regularly checking each venue, ensuring maintenance, maximising participation. ASM deals on a daily basis with county boards, ECB, councils, park management, schools, clubs, other cricket organisations and members of the public.
