About us …

STAK is a non-political group set up by local people, from Killington and the surrounding parishes of Firbank, Old and New Hutton, Mansergh, Grayrigg and Sedbergh.

We, and the many people who have contacted us, are concerned about the impact that the wind farm at Killington Lake will have on the landscape, the views from and to the surrounding fells, the lake and its wildlife, and the livelihoods of the region. We believe that this area must not turn into ‘wind farm alley’. We are all volunteers and give freely of our time to advise and help anyone in the community who would like to know more about the real effects that the wind farm will have. We are in a ‘David and Goliath’ situation, entirely self-funded, against a developer with great resources in money and manpower.

Banks Renewables planned to submit their application for the wind farm in September. For any further information, or advice about sending an objection to SLDC, please contact us:
