Penfolds Bin 620 Cabernet Shiraz 2008 Individual leather gift case Wine Advocate 94 points: “Very deep garnet-purple colored, the 2008 Bin 620 Coonawarra Cabernet Shiraz (a blend of 51% Cabernet Sauvignon and 49% Shiraz) is a little restrained on the nose, presenting earthy, black truffle, moss covered bark and loam aromas over gentle notes of cassis, crushed blackberries, chocolate mint and pencil shavings, plus a fragrant whiff of cloves. Medium to full bodied, very ripe and rich in the mouth, the complex, layered fruit is densely packed and well supported by firm, finely grained tannins and very crisp acid. The finish is very long with a subtle hint of mint interspersed with warm berries, vanilla and baking spices. Consider drinking it 2015 to 2025+. Only about 900 cases were made of this wine.” Retail: $12,500/btl Special: $9,380/btl BUY PENFOLDS Vintage Rating Qty Retail Special Penfolds Bin 389 Cabernet Shiraz (Cork Seal) 2005 JH95 4 $568 $520 Penfolds Bin 389 Cabernet Shiraz (Cork Seal) 2011 JH96 60+ $440 $360 Penfolds Bin 389 Cabernet Shiraz (Cork Seal) 2012 JH97 60+ $430 $360 Penfolds Bin 407 Carbernet Sauvignon (Cork Seal) 2012 JH95 60+ $410 $360 Penfolds Bin 620 Cabernet Shiraz (Individual Leather 2008 WA98+ 10 $12,500 $9,380 Case) (Cork Seal) *** Penfolds Grange Bin 95 (Cork Seal) 1997 WA94 12 $3,460 $3,020 Penfolds Grange Bin 95 (Cork Seal) 2002 WA98 5 $3,990 $3,500 Penfolds Grange Bin 95 (Cork Seal) 2003 JH95 3 $3,980 $3,320 Penfolds Shiraz RWT (Screw Cap) 2006 JH96 1 $1,800 $1,020 John Duval (Barossa Valley) John Duval Entity Shiraz 2012 John Duval Plexus SGM 2011 John Duval Plexus MRV 2012 James Halliday 94 points: “Warm at Wine Spectator 91 points: “A broad Wine Advocate 90+ points: “The heart but with its eyes firmly set on and open-textured red, delivering pure 2012 Plexus Marsanne, Roussanne, savouriness. The blocks were cropped at 1 ton of fruit per acre. The composition of the blend is 30% Shiraz, 30% Grenache, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Mourvedre, with the balance Carignan and Muscadelle. The wine was aged from 18-20 months in new French oak. It offers a complex aromatic array of smoky oak, damp earth, pencil lead, clove, pepper, cassis, and blueberry. Supple-textured and very intense, the wine exhibits spicy red and black fruits, with hints of mint and chocolate in the background. It is layered, opulent, and long while maintaining its elegant personality. Give it 5-7 years in the cellar and drink it through 2025.“ Retail: $530/btl Special: $360/btl BUY The Colonial Estate Exile 2005 Wine Advocate 95 points: “The 2005 Exile was sourced from a single dry-farmed vineyard owned by the winery and located in the center of Nuriootpa. It is composed of 85% Shiraz, 10% Mourvedre, and 5% Grenache and was aged for 18- 20 months in new French oak. Deep cherry-colored, it exhibits an alluring perfume of toasty oak, wood smoke, Asian spices, tar, blueberry, and black cherry. This leads to a full-bodied wine with chewy fruit, ripe flavors, great depth and concentration, and a pure, lengthy finish. Give this hedonistic effort 3-5 years in the cellar and drink it through 2030. “Retail: $900/btl Special: $700/btl BUY THE COLONIAL ESTATE Vintage Rating Stock Retail Special The Colonial Estate Émigré *** 2005 WA94 108 $530 $360 The Colonial Estate Exile *** 2005 WA 95 65 $900 $700 Nashwauk Shiraz 2011 (McLaren Vale) James Halliday 94 points: “From vines 30-40 years old, spending 16 months in French oak (15% new). Bright crimson; has a semi-trailer load of regional fruit, wrapped in a thick coating of dark chocolate; there are some slightly savoury nuances, but they add to, rather than detract from, the wine. It is full of gloriously juicy cassis fruit, and the oak has been judged to perfection.” Retail: $280/btl Special: $235/btl BUY WARRAMATE Vintage Rating Type Qty Retail Special Warramate Black Label Cabernet 2010 JH95 Red 60+ $280 $235 Sauvignon *** Warramate Black Label Shiraz 2010 JH94 Red 60+ $280 $235 Warramate Pinot Noir 2011 JH90 Red 60+ $290 $240 Torbreck Les Amis 2010 (Barossa Valley) Wine Advocate 97+ points: ”Medium deep garnet-purple in color, the 2010 Les Amis displays gorgeous kirsch and raspberry compote notes accented by potpourri and roses, baking spices, cloves and some meatiness with pepper. Ripe and rich, medium-firm, silky tannins frame a concentrated and layered palate through a long and refreshing finish.
