Fact sheet Enabling Works We’re building the Parramatta Light Rail, one of the NSW Government’s major infrastructure projects to serve a growing Sydney. In early 2019, you will start to notice some changes to Parramatta roads and traffic intersections as we prepare for construction. The Parramatta Light Rail project team will continue to keep you updated before and during the work. LATE 2018 2019 2023 • ENABLING WORKS SITE • MAIN ENABLING WORKS BEGIN • STAGE 1 BEGINS OPERATING INVESTIGATIONS BEGIN • MAJOR CONSTRUCTION BEGINS Enabling Works ‘Enabling Works’ is the term used for construction works such as the relocation of underground utilities, the modification or installation of traffic lights, road widening, the redirection of traffic flows and changes to parking, to modify and improve the capacity of the existing traffic network. The Parramatta Light Rail team will engage with residents and local businesses to communicate changes to property access as a result of the changes. Why is this work being done? Transport for NSW is conducting these works to enable the building and operation of Parramatta Light Rail Stage 1, and to mitigate the impacts of construction. Most of the Parramatta Light Rail Enabling Works What is Parramatta Light Rail? are being undertaken along roads that do not form part of the Parramatta Light Rail route. The works are Stage 1 of Parramatta Light Rail will connect intended to increase road capacity to ensure traffic Westmead to Carlingford, via Parramatta CBD can move in and around the Parramatta area during and Camellia. Macquarie Park Traffic Study Final Report EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Background City of Ryde (CoR) is currently in the process of amending and translating its Local Environment Plan (LEP), DCP and Public Domain Plan (PDP) for Macquarie Park, in recognition of the significant growth potential of the area. With over 2,000,000m2 in commercial floor space expected, including significant expansion of Macquarie Park Shopping Centre and Macquarie University, there is a need to ensure that there is sufficient transport infrastructure for access to, from and within the area. CoR has initiated both a traffic study and a pedestrian movement study for Macquarie Park to consider the needs and effects of the proposed LEP, defined as LEP2008. This report is for the traffic study component and covers: . the establishment of a base year (2007) Paramics micro-simulation model to be used as the basis for the assessment of traffic network options out to year 2031; . using the Paramics model, developing an understanding of the traffic situation that would arise in 2031 if no changes to the current road network or LEP were made; . presenting and understanding the likely traffic patterns in 2031 to, from and within Macquarie Park and importantly how the growth between 2007 and 2031 will evolve in particular parts of Macquarie Park; . developing a case for a target public transport mode split for the area, given likely rail and bus improvements mixed with an emphasis on workplace travel plans and parking management, and hence determining what discounting of traffic demand would be reasonable to apply; . developing and testing “local” network options and connections within Macquarie Park; . -

There have been complaints made that it is impossible currently to make contact directly with Keolis Downer with their advertised line diverting to the 131 500 info hotline. Are Keolis Downer obligated as per their contract to have hotline assistance for the services they operate in place? a) If they are not obligated to provide direct contact for complaints and questions as per their contract, why not? ANSWER I am advised: The Newcastle Transport website includes a dedicated “Get in Touch” page. Newcastle Transport proactively encourages feedback from customers by phone (131 500), in person at the Newcastle Transport Hub located at Newcastle Interchange (Mon – Fri, 9am – 4pm) and via social media on the Newcastle Transport Facebook page. The contract specifies using the Transport Infoline as a single point of contact for all Transport for NSW customers. If a call back is requested by a customer when calling 131 500, Newcastle Transport will promptly be in touch. The Newcastle Transport team includes six Customer Service Officers dedicated to helping customers with trip planning and customer interaction across the bus, ferry and light rail network. Customers can also provide enquiries and feedback via the Newcastle Transport webpage by filling in a form, providing contact details and requesting a response from a Newcastle Transport representative. Question – Public Transport – Taxi Transport Scheme 2. What services are available to individuals with mobility impairment that don’t fit into the criteria for the Taxi Transport Scheme but who cannot travel 200m to 400m to a bus stop? ANSWER I am advised: Community transport services are available to a wide range of people who require transport to recreation and shopping areas, medical and social services and social contact. -

These guides target groups of people with common transport needs with a simple concise and relevant message. Feedback from these has been good and is proving to be more cost effective than media advertising. The City Quarter brochure was for a residential development on the site of the former Royal Alexandria Hospital for Children in Camperdown. It currently houses 800 new residents but will grow to 2000 people when complete and Sydney Buses has received a commendation from the CEO of the development corporation for generating a high quality brochure in content and presentation. Since the 2006 report, Australand has had a busy year with our pipeline of residential, commercial and industrial development properties growing strongly. Recent highlights included: • Launch of the first stage of our Port Coogee development in Western Australia, an 87 ha development on the Cockburn coast consisting of a 300 pen marina, marina lots, apartments, residential lots and a large commercial precinct. • Our total pipeline of Commercial and Industrial projects increasing to over $1bn, the launch of our sixth wholesale property fund whilst our Investment Property portfolio has grown to over $1.5bn. • In Sydney, construction of the fifth office tower within the Rhodes Corporate Park along with the second stage of the highly successful Freshwater Place commercial tower at Southbank in Melbourne. Details of these and many other new and existing development projects continue to enhance Australand’s reputation as a premier fully-integrated property developer. As announced recently, Australand will shortly be welcoming Bob Johnston as its new Managing Director. Bob will join Australand in August this year. At the same time the Group has farewelled Brendan Crotty who for 17 years as Managing Director has guided Australand from a $300m market capitalised residential developer to a $2bn plus fully diversified property business. -

The pesticides used is a standard mixture of Lynx WG Round-up Bioactive Herbicide All pesticide spraying is programmed between: Sunday to Thursday 8pm – 5am Works will be rescheduled if rain is forecasted within 24hours or the wind speed is above 15kmph. When controlling weeds in aquatic situations refer to label directions to minimise the entry of spray into the water. Lynx WG DO NOT use chlorine bleach with ammonia. Parramatta Light Rail | Stages 1 and 2 Parramatta Light Rail is one of the NSW Government’s major public transport projects, part of a record $89.7 billion infrastructure program across the state. It will be built in stages to keep pace with the thousands of new houses and jobs being created in Western Sydney. Stage 1 highlights will include: • Integration with the NSW Opal Card electronic ticketing system. • Parramatta Light Rail Stage 1 will connect Westmead to Carlingford via the Parramatta CBD and Camellia. • New shared pedestrian and cycle paths along the light rail route. • Destinations en route include the restaurants and cafés on ‘Eat Street’; the health and medical Stage 2 highlights will include: research facilities at Westmead Precinct; the new Bankwest Stadium; the new Powerhouse Museum • The preferred route for Parramatta Light Rail and Riverside Theatres cultural precinct; Rosehill Stage 2 will connect Stage 1 and Parramatta CBD Gardens Racecourse; and three Western Sydney to Ermington, Melrose Park, Wentworth Point and University campuses.
