Job description: Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the guest rooms assigned. Previous cleaning experience as well as the ability to communicate to guests preferred. Requires a true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment, as well as the ability to lift pull and push a moderate amount of weight. Duties will include, but not limited to: cleaning rooms and common areas, including bathrooms, toilets, and showers, changing linens, laundry, dusting, vacuuming and emptying trash, etc. Very physically demanding. Be prepared to stand, bend, and push a 50 lb/23 kg cart all day. Requires attention to detail, punctuality, and a great service attitude & team spirit. Please do not apply if you are sensitive to any kind of chemicals or lotions or have physical limitations that would keep you from doing your job. This position is working inside, but you may be asked to work outside positions as well (pool attendant for instance). All employees must work weekends and any holidays including Labor Day Weekend. Galveston is over 70 miles away from Houston. You must take Islander Breeze Shuttle service, Galveston Limousine service, or Super Shuttle service from Houston to Galveston. If you arrive after last shuttle service to Galveston, you may have to find a motel and spend the night in Houston. Make sure you understand when you arrive in Houston and if there is enough time to make the shuttle service same day (plan this out and allow for lots of traffic to get from the airport to the shuttle location if need be).
