  • November Brings Bernadette Mcglade and Michael Cuddyer
We hope you enjoy the November edition of the Sportsline, the newsletter of The Norfolk Sports Club! Volume 32 #11 November, 2017 November brings Bernadette McGlade and Michael Cuddyer Join us on Monday, November 6th as we welcome AC10 Commissioner, Bernadette MCGlade! McGlade is in her 10th year as the Atlantic 10 Commissioner. Named commissioner in 2008, McGlade began working to shape the A-10 image and branding as one of the top 10 Division I conferences in the country. She led the conference through the development of a five-year Strategic Initiative Plan that was adopted by the Presidents’ Council in 2010. McGlade brought Final Four partici- pants George Mason and VCU, and Elite Eight participant Davidson as new A-10 members, adding academically strong bas- ketball-centric institutions. The success of the first strategic plan led to the development of a new five-year plan in 2016. McGlade negotiated a new media rights package in 2012 that enhanced the distribution, exposure and revenues for the con- ference through its national media partners, ESPN, CBS Sports Network and NBCSN. She spearheaded a multi-year partner- ship with Barclays Sports and Entertainment Group in Brooklyn, NY, to hold the A-10 Men’s Basketball Championship in the largest media market in the world. In 2014 she followed with a unique partnership between the A-10, the ACC and Barclays securing an additional three years in Brooklyn through 2021. She also secured PPG PAINTS Arena in Pittsburgh and Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. as the men’s basketball championship sites in 2017 and 2018.
