Resolution # 3/05/28/19 Councillor Godard and Ruth Ross WHEREAS the Heritage Advisory Committee of the Corporation of the Township of Lake of Bays has reviewed the Consent Agenda consisting of various proposed resolutions/by-laws; and NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Heritage Advisory Committee approve and adopt the recommendations contained in the Consent Agenda dated May 28, 2019 and direct staff to proceed with all necessary administrative actions. Carried 4. DEPUTATIONS/DELEGATIONS (a) Judy Vanclieaf, Baysville Resident Shirley Prittie, Baysville Resident RE: By-Gone Days of Baysville Ms. Judy Vanclieaf presented the following: • This project is a way to provide local history to residents and visitors by installing picture frames of historic photographs, old maps, etc., relating to Baysville history, as well as a brief write- up related to what is on display, and install the picture frames in local “hot-spots”; • Have approached some local businesses who would be willing to host a picture frame; • The project is being proposed to be completed in five phases, from now to Thanksgiving 2019; • As the photographs/maps are either family heirlooms or donated by other residents, no notable concerns regarding copyright or ownership of items; • Requested assistance from the Committee for their expertise in research and financial support of this project. Ms. Prittie continued by noting: • Received an original Langmaid’s Marching Band uniform jacket (c. 1900) from an old trunk that was in a Baysville home (donated by Bracebridge resident); • Have had the jacket professionally cleaned and a shadow box built to showcase the jacket; • The Baysville Library has agreed to host the shadow box. The Committee provided the following comments: • Believed the addition of local history throughout different venues in Baysville is a great idea; • Committee Member Godard and Committee Member Vickery noted their interest in assisting in this project. Resolution # 4(a)/05/28/19 Brian Simpson and Ruth Ross Page 4 of 11 Heritage Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes - May 28, 2019 Page 6 of 83 Page 4 of 11 AGENDADraft ITEM #3.(a) Heritage Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes - Tuesday, May 28, 2019 WHEREAS the Heritage Advisory Committee of the Corporation of the Township of Lake of Bays receives the presentation “By-Gone Days of Baysville” by Ms. Judy Vanclieaf and Ms. Shirly Prittie; BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Heritage Advisory Committee of the Corporation of the Township of Lake of Bays hereby supports the “By-Gone Days of Baysville” concept presented by Ms. Judy Vanclieaf and Ms. Shirley Prittie, whereby Ms. Vanclieaf and Ms. Prittie will arrange for the purchase of wooden frames, acquisition and printing of historical photographs, approach local businesses in Baysville, ON to host said frame(s), purchase and organize the installation of each frame, and care and maintenance of said frames; AND FURTHER THAT the Heritage Advisory Committee of the Corporation of the Township of Lake of Bays approves the amount of $500.00 as a contribution towards the purchase of wooden frames and/or printing of historical photographs for the “By-Gone Days of Baysville” concept, from the Heritage Advisory Committee 2019 budget, for Phase One of this project; AND FURTHER THAT the Heritage Advisory Committee of the Corporation of the Township of Lake of Bays will seek the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Lake of Bays pre-approval for any funds being used from the Heritage Advisory Committee’s Reserve Funds, if required.
