Predicting Suitable Habitat of the Chinese Monal (Lophophorus Lhuysii) Using Ecological Niche Modeling in the Qionglai Mountains, China

ABSTRACT Understanding the distribution and the extent of suitable habitats is crucial for wildlife conservation and management. Knowledge is limited regarding the natural habitats of the Chinese monal (Lophophorus lhuysii), which is a vulnerable Galliform species endemic to the high-montane areas of southwest China and a good candidate for being an umbrella species in the Qionglai Mountains. Using ecological niche modeling, we predicted current potential suitable habitats for the Chinese monal in the Qionglai Mountains with 64 presence points collected between 2005 and 2015. Suitable habitats of the Chinese monal were associated with about 31 mm precipitation of the driest quarter, about 15 ◦C of maximum temperature of the warmest month, and far from the nearest human residential locations (>5,000 m). The predicted suitable habitats of the Chinese monal covered an area of 2,490 km2, approximately 9.48% of the Qionglai Mountains, and was highly fragmented. 54.78% of the suitable habitats were under the protection of existing nature reserves and two conservation gaps were found. -

Researching on the mechanism of action between the routes and tourism resources nodes of the Sichuan-Tibet Scenic Byway network, will benefit the Sichuan-Tibet Scenic Byway’s development by changing the development patterns of the Scenic Byway from “point-line” to network, and will be helpful to promote the integration of tourism resources along the route, furthermore to construct the Sichuan-Tibet Scenic Byway as a destination of all-for-one tourism. Methods: Based on the spatial design network analysis (sDNA model), GIS spatial analysis and other methods, the current study analyzed regional tourism resources and the spatial characteristics of road network morphology along the Sichuan-Tibet Scenic Byway, and explored the influence of road network forms on the spatial distribution of tourism resources and its spatial spillover effect by combining with spatial econometric model. Results: The distribution pattern of tourism resources along the Sichuan-Tibet Scenic Road is “dense at both ends and sparse in the middle”, and the “Matthew Effect” is significant. -

As the main place for cultural relics information dissemination, the cultural resources contained in the museum are unfathomable. Although each museum has characteristic cultural relics, there are still many developmental cultural relics that have not been paid attention to. Therefore, the propaganda concept of cultural articles with the “unrefined jade age” as the starting point is very consistent with the emphasis and development of the country's cultural soft power in recent years. This article will take the existing jade cultural relics of jinsha site museum as an example to describe the cultural propaganda value of the jade and its propaganda methods. In the form of narration and development, the jade culture will be brought to the stage of the times, and further promote the excellent chinese culture and the characteristics of jinsha site museum. 1. Introduction 1.1 Jinsha Site Museum Jade Introduction Another major discovery of the ancient Shu culture is the Jinsha site culture unearthed in 2001. According to the Chengdu Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology, the site was discovered in the late Shang Dynasty to the Spring and Autumn Period. A large number of gold, jade, pottery, bronze and other relics were unearthed at the Jinsha relic. -

In this paper, basing on village governance view, setting up the corresponding indicator system and using fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method ,we evaluate the supply mechanism of public goods in village level of the representative villages(communities) in Chengdu’s three spheres areas to provide some proposals on perfection of the supply decision mechanism of public goods in village level , multi-channel fund-raising mechanism and so on. No.2006BAJ05A13(Sponsoring information) Abstract This study has been performed in order to analyze the coordinated degree and evolving trends of the land intensive use and land eco-security based on the statistical data from 1998 to 2007 in Chengdu city by Synergetios theory and dynamic coordinated degrees model. Results show that during the study period, the level of land intensive use and land ecological security both rose in Chengdu, the former continuing to raise, the overall increasing but some fluctuations in the latter. Dynamic coordinated degree in 10 years is between 8.99°~57.71° with a trend of rising firstly then dropping, undergoing the process from a relatively harmonious development to the best coordinated development, then to less coordinated development. Institute of Engineering Surveying, Sichuan College of Architectural Technology, Deyang 618000, P.R.China [email protected] Abstract: Based on GIS and CBERS/CCD which was obtained on June 16, 2006, patches of urban green in the main urban areas of Chengdu are extracted using many quantitative indicators and by method of decision tree classification, according to principles and methods of landscape ecology. Patches of urban green are divided into four grades, and they are respectively small-scale patch, medium-scale patch, large-scale patch and special large-scale patch. The area pro- portion of small-scale patch is 3.8%, and that of medium-scale patch is 11.1%, that of large-scale patch is 22.3% and that of special large-scale patch is 62.8%.The results of fragmentation, contagion, diversity index, dominance and evenness are obtained. They are 0.854, 0.600, 0.657, 0.730 and 0.690 respectively. The research results think that scal- ability characteristics and divisional differences of green patches are obvious. A little number of green whose area is bigger mainly is composed of scenic spots, gardens and universities. There are many problems, for example, connec- tivity of urban green is low, structure of landscape is single, and spatial distribution is unbalanced. -

The overall condition of resettlement for Zipingpu hydraulic project The Zipingpu hydraulic project involves resettlement of 33,000 people in a total of 5 townships, which are located in Dujiangyan city (under the administration of Chengdu municipality of Sichuan Province) and Wenchuan county of Aba Tibetan Ethinicty Autonomous Prefecture, and 29 county-owned corporations. Among them, 11,000 came from Dujiangyan city and the rest from Wenchuan. The affected people in Dujiangyan city are mainly located in Chaguan village of Longxi township, Maxi township and its Qingyuan village, Ziping village and Dujiang village of Zipingpu township. These affected communities are relocated to Nanhai, Quanhong, Kuangjia, Jijia and Ximin villages in Jiahongxiang township of Dujiangyan. The affected people in Wenchuan county are mainly located in Xuankou township and its Zhao-er-ba, Shuitianping and Xuaokou villages, Baihua township and its Shenyinsi, Baihuatan and Youzhan villages, and Yingxiu township and its Baiyan village. About 10,000 people of the Wenchuan’s affected people were relocated to Wenjiang, Chongzhou, Qionglai, Longquan, Xinjin, Shuangliu, Xindu and Pengzhou county or district of Chengdu municipality. The major issues of Zipingpu dam resettlement The affected communities and individuals as the land and property owners are not entitled to assessing the standard of compensation The Sichuan Institute of Water Resources and Surveying, which is closely related to the Zipingpu Hydropower Company, conducted the assessment of the compensation standard. The government released the results to the public. The whole process was conducted in the black box. The related documents and policies did not go through the consultation and hearing processes before the resettlement started.
